Japan earthquake: explosion at the Fukushima nuclear plant

Today the Japanese authorities are beginning the relief mission to help the victims of Friday's devastating earthquake and tsunami.

    I hate to live with the thought of the consequences of a nuclear reactor malfunction. Putting into context not only Japan, but also what happened in Russia in 1986? Moreover the possibility of sabotage by an enemy still stands. ($<Gary>$)

    Robert works in the Fukushima district. He contacted to the 主播大秀: "We heard that some areas have been evacuated, but we were not asked to leave. We were staying 90km away from the power plant. But three friends and I decided we would feel a lot safer if we moved further away from the plant. So all four of us drove 45 minutes south, and are now staying in a hotel. I didn't see any sign of panic on the roads, there seemed to be as much traffic travelling in the opposite direction. Things are disturbing because there is a lack of information. And as a foreigner it's even harder to work out what is fact and what is hearsay.
