Mohamoud Nur previously ran an internet café in London, but now he is running one of the world's most dangerous capitals - as the Mayor of Mogadishu.

He grew up in the Somali capital but he lived in England for 12 years before being asked to return by his friend, the Somalian president.

His wife and six children have remained in London while Mohamoud grapples with the catastrophic situation in his home city, considered one of the most dangerous in the world.

On a trip to Nairobi, Mohamoud took time out from catching up with his wife to talk to Outlook's Jo Fidgen about his extraordinary life story.
