(NB: All the events are FREE unless otherwise stated) Hair: Community Stories from BirminghamDATE:Ìý 25th July -Ìý 1st March 2009 TIME: Open everyday with free drop-in family fun workshops every Tuesday and Thursday 11am – 4pm. VENUE: Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery Create a new you and try a computer-generated hairstyle, find out why African–Caribbean people straighten their hair, hear local stories and much more at a free interactive hair exhibition at the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery. During the summer holidays the exhibition will be accompanied by an exciting programme of free drop-in family fun workshops every Tuesday and Thursday 11am – 4pm. Moseley Folk Festival MOSELEY FOLK FESTIVALDATE: 29th August – 31st August Sit back and listen to some of the finest traditional and contemporary folk musicÌý from across the country Away from the music there's a host of other attractions including morris dancing on the village green, Eco powered kids fairground rides, seventeenth century storytelling pirates, Extreme knitting, Carrom championships and music making workshops. The Ö÷²¥´óÐã is not responsible for the content of external websites Gardeners weekend GARDENER'S WEEKENDDATE: 30th - 31st August VENUE: Kings Heath Park The perfect day for gardeners with entertainment and attractions in the beautiful surroundings of Kings Heath Park. Stunning floral displays, prize winning fruit and vegetables and activities for the whole family. ARTSFESTDATE: 12th -14th September VENUE: Birmingham City Centre The UK’s biggest free arts festival returns once again to bring over 450 individual events to Birmingham City Centre, 26 venues and 6 outdoor stages will host over 27 hours of performance, art exhibitions, workshops, participatory activities and a designer-maker fair. Saturday evening will see BRB, CBSO and Birmingham Opera Company share the stage, accompanied by a spectacular fireworks display. Friday 12th September will also see Birmingham's first Light Night, a phenomenon that has been sweeping Europe. Activities and themed weeks, along with a programme of entertainment on the bandstand will be announced soon.
