TheOlympic 2012 podcastfeatures a selection of Olympic stories from across 主播大秀 local, national and World Service Radio, brought to you by 主播大秀 Radio 5 live's Eleanor Oldroyd.

This week, the Olympic torch headed north to Scotland visiting her beautiful cities, highlands and islands. 主播大秀 Scotland鈥檚 Bryan Burnett marvelled at the atmosphere surrounding the torch while Fred MacAuley heard from just some of the torch bearers. For the full coverage of the Olympic flame鈥檚 progress through Scotland, listen back to 鈥淧ass It On...with Bryan Burnett鈥 or follow @bbcradioscot on Twitter.

Over the last month a storm has been brewing in the British taekwondo world. The dispute began when the world number one Aaron Cook was omitted from the Team GB squad in favour of the lesser-ranked and less experienced athlete, Lutalo Muhammad. After initial objections, the decision was ratified by the British Olympic Association. Now Aaron Cook is preparing to take legal action against the BOA over his non-selection for the London 2012 Olympics. Cook told 主播大秀 5 Live鈥檚 Victoria Derbyshire that he feeled 鈥渃heated and robbed鈥.

Paralympics GB team is set to be the biggest ever representing the country. Around 300 athletes set to take part with the aim of surpass the Beijing medal total of 102 medals. Among the sporting events taking place this summer is goalball. The sport is played by teams of three using a ball with bells inside on a volleyball sized court. Uniquely it takes place in total silence and all competitors are blindfolded. Gail Emms and Luke Ashmead spoke to Team GB鈥檚 Georgina Bullen about goalball for 主播大秀 Three Counties Radio

World 400 meters hurdles champion Dai Greene is one of Team GB鈥檚 greatest hopes for an Olympic medal but he has had a rocky road of late. Illness forced him to pull out of the Diamond League meet at Rome, and a rusty Greene took fourth place at the Oslo Diamond League. Dai Green told 主播大秀 5 Live鈥檚 Steve Parry that he is confident about his form and revealed how he plans to use music during his race preparation.

It鈥檚 not just Dai Greene who uses music to enhance his performance. The advent of the MP3 player has enabled athletes and their coaches to build distinct playlists for specific areas of their training. When Victoria Pendleton is training for Gold, she listens to her Prodigy playlist with its 136 beats per minute, a perfect tempo for her cycling. John Wilson looked at the relationship between music and performance in 鈥淧ump Up the Volume鈥, a 主播大秀 Radio 4 documentary. Sports psychologist Dr Costas Karageorghis revealed how a pop music playlist is a good scientific choice for a physical work out.

Eleanor Oldroyd is back next Friday. A second主播大秀 Olympic 2012 Podcastwill be presented by 主播大秀 Olympic Correspondent Gordon Farquhar every Tuesday.

Please, please can you give this damn torch a rest? It's the same story every day with different accents. The whole of the 主播大秀 is obsessed by it ... I can only assume some illicit sponsorship because its kept Five Live (time and time again) local radio, 24 hour TV news and even the national news filled with hours of coverage - banal as it is it does not matter - it fills air time. ZZZZZZZzzzzzz

I think Cook has been treated abominably by the snippy big heads of the taekwondo governing body. I thought the Olympics was about putting your best people in to try to win a gold medal, not getting your own back for a perceived snub. They have tiny minds and if Cook isn't in the team I hope there is a back lash from everyone.
