Listening online during the Olympic Games
The Olympics and Paralympics are the biggest events to occur in the UK this year, and 5 live is privileged to be host broadcaster.
However, due to rights restrictions we're unable to broadcast our Olympics coverage to our international audience who listen online.
All of 5 live's coverage, except Up All Night, will be UK-only online - including clips - for the duration of the Olympic Games. Likewise for our sister station 5 live Olympics Extra.
Full details of Ö÷²¥´óÐã Radio's international streaming rights can be read here in a blog post by Mark Friend, Ö÷²¥´óÐã Audio and Music's controller of multi-platforms & interactive.
Sports Extra in unaffected by Olympics rights and will continue to broadcast to our international audience where rights permit.
Will Cooper is Ö÷²¥´óÐã Radio 5 live's interactive editor.

It is a lost opportunity to encourage wider feedback and discussion which may end up as your Olympic legacy, Will.

Not sure how I feel about shoving cricket to the very base of the main Sports page on the website. We are NUMBER ONE you know.

I don't know if that makes it worse or better.

If anything I think she's the best thing about the Burden/Campbell/Riley triumvirate as she at least tries to keep to the matter at hand without the unnecessary 'banter' of the other 2.
As there is very little non-Olympic news being discussed, I don't know why they didn't place sports broadcasters on these programmes. The likes of Inverdale & Oldroyd often manage to professionally cover news events in their broadcasts.

Also, the fact you are posting online means you can find out what you want to know immediately. I for one am glad the GB team is being bigged up, as we say in my area of London. Smile. Life is good in the country for once, feelgood is infectious and instead of the disgusting riot of selfishness last summer, we have a lovely feeling of happiness for once.
