The DOG is a lot better than on the test transmissions but still annoying.

Can you also PLEASE indicate on the programme information which programmes are true HD and which are upscaled?

Can you not think of something - ANYTHING - better than the watch the paint dry countdown clock from 6.30? I know you cannot do regional news as yet but why not just continue the simulcast of the Ö÷²¥´óÐã News bulletin which, after all, is the 6pm bulletin? What about recycling the reports from the European Parliament and the national parliaments and regional assemblies that Ö÷²¥´óÐã Parliament carries at odd times? That would both be informative, fill that black hole and actually educate the rest of the country to the issues in the nations and regions and at a European level!.

    Hello Peter London,
thanks for your comment, can I direct you to two other blogs which you might find interesting and that might answer some of your questions?

Danielle Nagler wrote a post on the TV blog recently about Ö÷²¥´óÐã One HD. She has responded in the comments today,

Andy Quested has posted more recently on the Internet blog where he is discussing the test transmissions,

    Best wishes,
    Laura.

    Hi Laura,

I absolutely LOVE being able to watch Ö÷²¥´óÐã One in HD. The Ö÷²¥´óÐã should be very proud of what they've achieved here on Freeview. The picture quality is excellent, and the 5.1 sound is awesome on some shows (Later...in particular).

However, I really don't understand why the launch of this channel wasn't trumpeted a bit more? I found out about it by accident, when I received a newsletter from the manufacturer of my set-top box!

Technically, the digital switchover is now showing huge benefits. But the management of the switchover, and the relaying of information about what it can do, is sorely lacking.

Pleaase remove the DOG from these programmes. They are visually distracting and add no value to the viewer. There are a multitude of other ways on digital equipment to display the channel without defacing an excellent picture.

    Dear waylandsmithy.

I saw your query on promotion of the channel and as I head up communications for Ö÷²¥´óÐã HD, I wanted to try and answer your question about why we've not made more noise about the launch of Ö÷²¥´óÐã One HD.

I've spoken to my colleagues in marketing and they are planning a marketing campaign in early January to showcase the new channel. They chose January for the main campaign as it gives the channel a couple of months to bed in and also ensures we can give it the air time and plug it deserved as lots of the Ö÷²¥´óÐã's promotion focuses around Christmas, so the HD message would have been somewhat lost.

In the meantime you can check our regular news from the channel through your listings magazine, the Ö÷²¥´óÐã HD Facebook page and Danielle Nagler, our Head of HD's Twitter feed @naglerhd. Also, the Ö÷²¥´óÐã's continuity announcers will be regularly reminding viewers to switch over.

It's always good to have feedback on marketing and publicity, so many thanks for your comments. I'm also happy to hear that you're enjoying Ö÷²¥´óÐã One in HD - you may be interested to know that EastEnders will be going HD on Christmas Day.

This comment was removed because the moderators found it broke the house rules. Explain.
