Musical Extravaganza in the North East
Travelling around Tyne & Wear became much easier in 1980, when the Metro opened to transport Geordies around the region. To celebrate the system's 30th anniversary last year, Ö÷²¥´óÐã North East and Ö÷²¥´óÐã Outreach worked together to create the all-singing, all-dancing Metro the Musical.
Written by Benjamin Till and performed by over 200 members of the public, the short film highlights some of the stories of people who travel or work on the Metro.
The film has just been premiered at the Sage, Gateshead, and Ö÷²¥´óÐã Outreach was there to meet the participants and other local opinion formers. The event was filmed and broadcast on Ö÷²¥´óÐã Look North, along with clips of the film.
You can watch Metro the Musical onÌýthe Ö÷²¥´óÐã News Tyne & Wear website.
