Howard Goodall talks about the making of The Story of Music

"Whatever music you're into, Monteverdi or Mantovani, Mozart or Motown, Masho or Mashup, the techniques it relies on didn't happen by accident, someone, somewhere thought of it first."

So says award-winning composer Howard Goodall at the beginning of the new 主播大秀 Two series听Howard Goodall's The Story Of Music.

The six hour-long programmes are broadcast in January 2013 and will document the history of music from the Stone Age to the Digital Age.

The series will be accompanied by a series of 50 collectible downloads featuring discussions about how specially selected key works from the repertoire have contributed to the development of music as a whole. 听The Story of Music in 50 Pieces will be broadcast on weekdays in Essential Classics and In Tune. 听

Yesterday, ahead of a special screening for journalists we spoke to Howard Goodall about the series and what his inspiration was when making it.
