主播大秀

The Third closed last night (Thursday 30 March) with an awards ceremony at the 主播大秀 Radio Theatre in London. 

After a week of screenings and events bringing bold voices, telling unique and original stories to a London audience, the awards highlight the judges' selection from the programme. This year the judging panel featured award-winning filmmaker and visual artist Jihan El-Tahri; Charlie Phillips, Head of Documentaries at The Guardian; Kate Townsend, Executive Producer of 主播大秀 Storyville; film producer Nadine Toukana; 主播大秀 Arabic TV News presenter Tony El-Khoury; columnist and commentator Sultan Sooud Al-Qassemi; award-winning foreign correspondent Yalda Hakim and film and television producer Rosa Bosch.

They selected the following winners: 

• Best Feature Documentary –  by Liliana Marinho de Sousa
• Best Short Documentary –  by Maysoon ElMassry
• Best in Reportage –
• Best in Short Film –  by Rana Kazkaz and Anas Khalaf
• Liliane Landor Award for Best in Journalism –  by Karim Sayad
• Young Journalist Award –  by Mohamed Jabaly

The winner of the Young Journalist Award receives bespoke support to make his next film. This will include equipment, training and mentoring. There is also the possibility of him being invited to present his film at the next Festival, and for his film to be aired on 主播大秀 Arabic TV, as happened with the last winner of the award: Jordanian film-maker .
