Elliot Minor Q & A

Post categories:

Paul McClean | 17:56 UK time, Monday, 30 November 2009

In advance of them showcasing their evil wares this week at the Limelight, Belfast, we cornered rockers to tackle a series of cunning yet frivilous questions before brazenly stealing an acoustic version of 'Solaris' out of their backpackÌýto give to you (gratis, naturally) while their backs were turned. Honestly, you just can't trust us for a second.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hello there, and how the Dickens are you right now?
In the wilds of Scotland and getting the full Scottish welcome, even though we are from York. We expect a more traditional NI greeting when we get to Belfast. No one is really sick, 2 are hungover and Ali is killing us all at Golf on the screen. All a bit hungry and looking for food.

Why the heck should we give a stuff about your band then ;)?
Because we have outlasted all the critics who said we wouldn't last and proved them wrong. We love playing shows and we love all the support we get from our fans!

elliotminor.jpgWhen and how did you all get it together to become Gods of Rock?
Ha ha, that is the first time we've ever been refered to "Gods of Rock". We started at school but we've known each other since a really early age. Everything just took off from their really.

Topical Question of The Week - A Macclesfield student was recently spared prison for urinating on a war monument after a night of heavy drinking. What was the last thing you regret doing while having a tipple?
Actually it is urinating under a bar while ordering a drink, actually I don't really regret that, its was pretty funny.

You guys use social networking sites quite rigorously to interact with your fanbase. How important do you think sites such as myspace have been in your career so far?
Myspace was great for every single band/singer/actor/wanna be in the land. Now it is dead, dead, dead and nothing has replaced it. Ever wonder why there are less acts around these days that aren't on X Factor...

Your house has been maliciously set ablaze by as yet un-named evil forces, but you have the strength to battle the flames and fumes to rescue one piece of music, what is it and why?
"Tommy" by The Who. I just love that album.

Tell us your favourite one-liner.
"Alright Boss".

2009 has been a busy year for you guys, releasing an album and hectic touring. What can we expect from you guys in 2010?
gavinandstacey500.jpgTouring, touring and maybe even release another album.

Tell us this, if your band was a film, which film would you be and why?
ET, with Ali playing the alien. It just sums us up right!?

Who is the greatest human to have ever lived?
Roy Cropper from Coronation Street.

Lastly, in three words describe life, the universe and everything within it...
Touring, Music, Gavin + Stacey.
