The development of over the last few years has been phenomenal. From their humble beginnings playing bars as a two piece with a lap-top, to their current situation of being a fully fledged indie-rock monster, the band have consistently pushed themselves to greater heights, and tonight is no exception.
It's almost a cliche to say, but every song they play tonight could be a hit single. From the chiming bells and tom-toms of 'Goldstar' to the closing rumble of 'Goodbye Friend', Cashier play with an intensity and confidence that would have seen the most die-hard naysayer tapping their toes. With their metronome pulse at the core of things, they weave layer and layer of melody together to create an unforgettable tapestry of noise.
The crowd lap it up, and seem hungry for more. It's a testament to the power of these songs that as Snow Patrol are getting ready to take off, there is no mass exodus toward the main stage. The band have the audience transfixed, and they show no sign of letting go.
It's about time Cashier No.9 became your new favourite band.
You Are My Joy: '42 West Avenue' sounded immense, provoking some serious movement in the crowd.
Shut Your Eyes: ATL doesn't want to describe this as faultless, but it would be easy to describe this as one of the best gigs the band has played...
