They've been around for an age, but ATL's love for indie-gems Cashier No.9 has never waned. Ahead of a show (and video shoot) at The Menagerie, Belfast on November 5, Danny took time out from recording to chat online with our Rigsy. Please note, as always, spelling mistakes are down to Rigsy's enormously fat fingers.

Danny says: giv us a sec. hey…riglet ?
Rigsy says: aye. what you up to. dispense with your craic immediately
but keep it clean - interviewed has begun
Danny says: up in the studio twiddling on thru to the other side
Rigsy says: what you working on?
Danny says: got a few synths , workin on the 2nd cashier record. im even wearing a cape
Rigsy says: 2nd cashier album? what about the first one?
Danny says: its done. relesing an ep soon. around xmas
Rigsy says: and dya now when the album will be out?
Danny says: early next year, toes crossed
Rigsy says: how much of the 1st album will we know?
Danny says: well , maybe the track goldstar, 42 and jackie wont be on it
Rigsy says: why? PLAY THE HITS
Danny says: ha theres better ones on it
Rigsy says: 42 and jackie are great and you know it#
are you just sick of them?
Danny says: wee bit - there already out there on itunes etc (plug). Go buy
Rigsy says: yeah but what about brand new fans who get into the band off the back of the album?
Danny says: what about the glens [Glentoran F.C.] ?
Rigsy says: they need to hear those tracks
what about the glens? this aint about the glens
unless the glens have started to write very pleasant indie-pop with a slight edge
Danny says: just wanted to see if you went on a rant
Rigsy says: here who's doing the interviewing here mate?
Danny says: im sure we ll still play the songs live , they just didnt sit right on the record
Rigsy says: actually i quite like being asked questions, gwan ask me another
Danny says: whta aftershave you wearing ? i can smell you from the east
Rigsy says: i've recently changed fragrances, thank you for noticing
Danny says: splash of brut?
Rigsy says: BRUTE

Rigsy says: come on now, we're doing a proper interview

Danny says: think cashier are more of an old spice band
Rigsy says: if you had to sell the record to a row of noses

Rigsy says: so...traditional?
Danny says: aye. hold on gonna put some tunes on, what should I soundtrack this interview to?
Rigsy says: anything but cashier no. 9
Danny says: hit me with a cool new hip band
Rigsy says: i don't know any cool bands TBH i still listen to REM and nirvana
Danny says: ill go a bit of In Utero then
Rigsy says: rght we need some proper interview stuff here
Rigsy says: tell us about 2010 so far
Danny says: good fun so far
Rigsy says: has it all been good for you lot or anything you want to change in 2011
Danny says: supported air in dublin
Rigsy says: glasgowbury was great ,snow patrol @ ward park#
what about gary lightbody, he's a fan, have you chatted to him about the band much?
Danny says: get this * record out
yeah great to be part of the snow patrol thing , they're a kind bunch of boys
Rigsy says: have they imparted any wisdom?
like the way Bono apparantly does with new irish bands
Danny says: no but they did give us a slinky snow patrol bottle of elderflower vodka
bono's yet to discover the greatness
we're trying to play a few more shows south , got a support with that funk band forgot the name
Rigsy says: republic of loose?
Danny says: no the commitments

are you still playing the hits or have you disposed of them live as well
Danny says: aye next friday night , gonna shoot a video , so we are
Rigsy says: at the gig?
Danny says: aye hopefully
just got confirmed for boxing night in the empire , that should be fun
we'll be selling the new EP then
Rigsy says: are cashier number 9 fans handsome?

Danny says: so stuff your pockets with grannies xmas money and buy our compact disc
they are a handsome bunch
