Glasgowbury 2011 - Aaron Shanley

Post categories: ,Ìý,Ìý

ATL | 14:42 UK time, Sunday, 24 July 2011

Eagles Rock, 4.30pm

Describe in a Tweet: Small volume but maximum effect.

What happened: Aaron Shanley (with Allie Bradley) is a gentle sort, quiet and unassuming. Or his music is, at least. Yet he has us mesmerised, drowning out a mess of noise and mayhem elsewhere onsite.

Goldstar: 'I Think I love You' stands out, but generally this is a set that encourages us to go off and listen to Aaron Shanley's entire back catalogue, on our own terms. 'Oh God Why Aren't You Here', another wonderfully simple song, ends a set and leaving us desperately hungry for more.

Lost at Sea: Aaron apologises for his, Ìý"[insert expletive]Ìýmiserable songs'", possibly unaware that sometimes, it's good to be sad.
