What happened: Essentially this is a Guns N' Roses tribute act, as ATL's favourite top hat fret fondler shamelessly panders to the masses in impressive style. We don't feel that a legacy has been ravished however, for that see Peter Hook and The Light's set from Friday afternoon. Instead we toe the party line and whip out our fake plectrums for the air guitar show. Slash's lead singer could pass for Axl Rose's younger, better singing brother and brings justice to a set bloated with rock and roll classics.
Fergie from the Black Eyed Peas then joins the band on stage for two pointlessly meandering songs. She sang well, she danced well but the two tracks, originals co-written with Slash, were painfully rubbish. Slash is here to save the day though, by blasting 'Sweet Child Of Mine' and 'Paradise City' into the swelling frontal lobes of the Oxegen Masses. It's brainless nostalgic rock and roll and we love it.
Crazy In Love: Paradise City is a proper nostalgia trip. ATL's stadium rock hand clapping, in our opinion, was the best and most in time of the night.
Why Don't You Love Me: Fergie and Slash's co-written songs are as enjoyable to listen to as putting your head in a bee hive.
