What happened?:Ìý If it isn’t a rule that a festival must have some ska, then there should be.Ìý You may not listen to it any of the other 364 days of the year, but for getting a smile on your face, and a dance in your shoes, there’s nothing finer.Ìý Taking to the stage at sun-set, or at least as the area becomes bathed in shadow, there’s a few people waiting upfront for them to begin.Ìý These are joined by others as we quickly realise there’s some obligatory partying to be done.Ìý ‘Dirty Money’ is exactly what we need – shouty, catchy, poppy fun to make us forget it’s suddenly got a little colder.Ìý ‘Tetrasaurus Rex’ prompts some of the band to ditch their instruments and dive into the crowd while closer ‘Belfast Town’ is the place is musical form – humorous, shouty, sweary, fun, cheeky and a bit riotous.
Ìý
Shining Light: It has to be ‘Belfast Town’ – the campaign to get this made into an official song starts here.
Ìý
Meltdown: Ok, who turned off the lights?Ìý And the heating?Ìý Now we’ve stopped dancing, I’ve just realised it’s got a little nippy.
