Belsonic 2011 - Caspa
CASPA
supporting Tiesto and Alex Metrik
Friday the 26th of August 2011
Describe in a tweet: West Londoner Caspa tries to enforce dubstep on the crowd.
What happened: Caspa has been making waves in the Dubstep scene for several years, and doesn't do a bad job of dropping bass-heavy beats to a totally underwhelmed crowd. However, his set definitely ebbs in places and he seems to be hell-bent on sticking with what he knows and not reading the crowd's reaction. Dropping a few bars of Swedish House Mafia's "(One) Your Name" is the first clever thing he does, briefly getting a few audience cheers before they largely ignore him again. Not even closing with Underworld's "Born Slippy" can rescue him from the total ennui floating around Custom House Square.
Surrounded By Light: Caspa is largely good at what he does and sticking to his Dubstep guns is admirable.
In The Dark: This crowd are clearly only here for the night's headliner and just don't seem to understand what Caspa is about.
