Foy Vance
supporting Villagers and Elbow
Wednesday the 24th of August 2011

Describe in a Tweet: We dance for joy with the Vance of the Foy.

What Happened: Foy has ditched the loop station and decided to take on Custom House Sq with full band. This isn't exactly Dylan goes electric but it does take a little minute to adjust. The band fleshes out the tracks, adding subtle undertones and textures, but does so without losing the intimacy that Foy is famed for. Close your eyes during 'Indiscriminate Act of Kindness' and you would be forgiven for thinking that big Van Morrison was back in town. He had a band, and sure didn't he do well for himself?

My Very Best: The final song repeats "Let me be your guiding light" as the sun peers over the grey clouds.

Grounds For Divorce: The biggest and last downpour of the night means that there probably aren't as many people there as there should be.

Belsonic Rating: 7/10
