Vital 2011 - Ryan Sheridan
Main Stage, 4.30pm
Tuesday 23rd of August
Describe in a tweet: Hey! A singer songwriter!
What happened: There's a mounting crowd at the main stage here at Vital but it doesn't seem to faze Ryan Sheridan. Facing a few hundred people with an acoustic guitar and an able percussionist, Sheridan pulls off a professional performance. There's nothing particularly stunning about the singer-songwriter, getting the crowd moving a little but never really sparking things into life. "All And More" shows off Sheridan's skills on guitar and vocally he doesn't miss a note but there's little to differentiate the man fromÌýMonaghan and countless musicians up and down the country.
I'm Yours: Without a shadow of a doubt the superb rhythms keep us entertained throughout this performance. It's almost enough to get us dancing.
We Cry: Sheridan's cover of "Folsom Prison Blues" was ill advised. The musical equivalent of sticking a four to the floor disco beat onto "Yesterday" by the Beatles, it was pretty painful to listen to.
