Hello, welcome to this instalment of ‘That New Band Smell’, the weekly blog incarnation of our three sonic beauties showcased on this weeks Across The Line radio show. Here are our offerings this week.

Former Monarchs – Repeat After Me
Angular math rock from the deep dark depths of Cork.

That DJ – Nice and Easy
Mellow club beats, sexually suggestive lyrics and a questionable moniker.

Best Boy Grip – Barbara
On a brief research expedition onlineÌýI discovered a Best Boy Grip is *‘an assistant to the department heads, the gaffer and the key grip, respectively.’ In Derry/Londonderry Best Boy Grip is an indie band that feature on this weeks New Band Smell blog. The Derry five piece are currently working on their debut album, have supported unkempt poet slacker Pete Doherty and have more tunes than a chemists counter. Check them and some very lowÌýbudget and fun promo vids atÌýtheir website. I highly suggest you get this band into your life.

This a breath of fresh air and shows real musicality with depth and message as well as wide appeal - You can see Eoin O Callaghan (Singer Songwriter) also on YouTube
Not sure if Ö÷²¥´óÐã allows links but if not type his name and you will find him a credit to the North West
