runawayGO and Before Machines at The Stiff Kitten

It鈥檚 clear that cold noses, icy streets and the probability of bruised bums weren鈥檛 going to stop anyone from missing what was the ATL 鈥楪ig of the Week鈥, with an impressive showing early doors at The Stiff Kitten.
Fresh off their tour of Ireland, bring it home for the release of their second single 鈥楧elicate Man.鈥 The indie rock 5 piece are becoming renowned for their high powered performances, so Friday night was held in high expectations.
听
The night kicked off with , a mathrock act, of sorts. The lads caught the attention of the scattered punters with their angsty melodies and energetic stage show, treating us to a performance of gritty, riff filled, alternative rock, with some interesting synth dispersed throughout.
Perhaps a tad mismatched in support to RunawayGo, they sounded on top form, engaging the crowd throughout with a neat combination of onstage banter, hard vocals and heavy rhythm.
Runaway GO took to the stage with a warm welcome from the eagerly awaiting crowd, kickstarting their set with an extended, rhythmic introduction to their first single 鈥楢lligator.鈥 The build-up was intense and there was a strong energy coming from the band within moments.
One of the most noticeable elements of this band is how amazingly fitted lead vocalists Fiona and Dave are together. They complement each other perfectly, with Fiona鈥檚 vocals holding an intimate, delicate and powerful all at the same time, whereas Dave brings the dramatic depth that is predominant throughout their set.
鈥淲ide awake鈥 was an inevitable highlight, prompting an over powering call and response with the admiring audience, which left the band awestruck. Such an epic performance and one we can easily imagine taking place in an arena.
Closer 鈥楧elicate Man鈥 gives us tingles as Dave gives a humble thanks to an energised, 鈥榤ental鈥 (his words) crowd. Having fallen in love, we鈥檙e left feeling RunawayGo have something special - the onstage chemistry which captivates the audience, along with their anthemic chorus鈥 and melancholic melodies. No one leaves surprised they鈥檙e finally getting that recognition they deserve.
