Neil Hannon pens Opera!

Neil Hannon (aka ) has written an Opera called 'Sevastopol' which follows the young writer Leo Tolstoy's journey through the Crimean war.Ìý

The half hour show is part of a series called OperaShots atÌýRoyal Opera House in London, which invites leading talent from other fields to "break the mould and take a brand new shot at opera".

This year also see's minimalist composer Graham Fitkin taking part, whileÌýStewart Copeland, Jocelyn Pook and Terry Jones have all been part of the project over the last three years.

The opera runs for 6 nights, with the first this Friday the 20th of April.
