They Say: "When I was writing and producing Reptile, I wanted it to sound old. I spent months researching old Analog gear and have since learned that there are basically two drum machines that I want for the Wake America sound. One is the Roland 808 and the other is the LinnDrum. I discovered that these two machines were used on some of my favourite records from years ago, including Prince and Michael Jackson and many more in-between.

That was the starting point. The groove. The rest just fell into place. It’s fun, dirty, sleazy, funky and gritty all at once. When I heard a break in the track, a guitar solo came to my mind almost instantly. I grabbed the guitar and played it then recorded it immediately and never changed a note. It was one of those weird moments when you know that you could live for 100 years and never improve on that one bit. It’s my favourite part – and deserves a great video and some sunshine. We’ll see…” Eoin O'Callaghan

We say:  “Wake America blew us away with their session - such a wonderful racket of guitars and synths - courtesy of just two folk, who stood opposite each other in studio 8D. Huge songs, warped vocals and trippy vibes throughout. All three tracks had impact, though an office row has eventually resulted in the selection of ‘Reptile’.”

You can also listen to Wake America’s debut single ‘– this track will officially be released on 4th March on limited edition 7"Vinyl via .
