More acts announced for Moira Calling

A second wave of acts have been announced for the first ever ‘Moira Calling’ music, food and drink festival. Callum Stewart, Michael Mormecha, Hannah McPhillimy, Siobhán Day, Beulah, Kim, Bear Skin & Cup o Joe will play on the ‘All the Little Lights’ stage.

Also on the line-up are Hudson Taylor, Ex Magician, Ports, David C Clements, Arborist and many others.

‘Moira Calling’ music, food and drink festival takes place on Sunday 10th September at The Demesne, Moira, Co Armagh.

 

Line-up confirmed for Body&Soul @ Electric Picnic

Now in its thirteenth year at the - already sold out - Electric Picnic, the Body&Soul village hosts a variety of music stages, therapies, workshops and art installations.

Acts confirmed for the Body&Soul Village include Ezra Furman, MOTHXR; Eleanor Friedberger; This Is The Kit, Girls Names, Whilk & Misk, Overhead, The Albatross, Ninos du Brasil, Talos and more.

A new addition to the village this year is The Haunted Music Hall, a Victorian and Edwardian inspired ‘world of vintage sounds and visuals’. In a natural hollow in the middle of the Electric Picnic site the full line-up for the two main music stages in Body & Soul are:

New ‘Hazel Wood’ area for Electric Picnic

In other news recently announced for EP, Cathy Davey is set to exclusively perform her new album in its entirety and for the first time in the ‘Hazel Wood’ area of the festival. The Friday night performance in the all new Hazel Wood area will showcase storytelling through ‘interactive theatre, immersive hauntings, shadow puppetry, visual displays, commedia dell’arte workshops, visual art and more’.

Included are Footsbarn Travelling Theatre with interactive and experimental theatre, Twisted Tales hosted by The Gaiety School of Acting will be hosting a series of workshops and performances and The Melting Pot with opera, art song and chamber music.

Also present will be the multi-media Generic People, who will host "AFTER DARK in The HAZEL WOOD" with visuals & lighting, live acts, musicians, DJs & performances.

Some of the acts they have invited to join them include Jack O’Rourke, Exit Pursued By a Bear, Carried By Waves and more.

 

Mindfield @ EP

And in a busy week for Electric Picnic announcements the details for the multi-stage Mindfield has also been announced. ‘Inspired by the themes that have emerged from the 1916 centenary commemorations’ the Mindfield will look at politics, history, science, Irish language and literature. It will feature Waterford Whispers News, broadcasters Miriam O’Callaghan and comedian Al Porter, BlindBoy Bloatclub of The Rubberbandits and many more.

Also featured is From Eden, a new play by Stephen Jones, directed by Karl Shiels and starring Stephen Jones and Seána Kerslake. (Winner of the Stewart Parker Trust/主播大秀 Radio Drama Award), and there’s slam poetry from Mik Artistik, Mary Coughlan, Candlelit Tales and Gary Dunne.

An Puball Gaeilge is all about the Irish language with highlights from Tara Mooney , Na Gaibairí, Tura Arutura and Ciara Ní Éanacháin.
