Bollywood Bonanza

Raj&Pablo | 15:07 UK time, Monday, 3 November 2008

Have you ever waited ages for a bus and then suddenly two come at once? Well, that is exactly how we felt this weekend - two fantastic movies that showcase the best of bollywood but in different directions. "Golmal Returns" is a clever funathon that is both farcical, funny with show stopping performances by Ajay,ÌýKareena,ÌýCelina,ÌýTusshar,ÌýShreyasÌý,ÌýAmrita andÌýArshad excel -Ìýeveryone's comic timing is perfect.Ìý"Fashion" exposes the disturbing underbelly of one of India's emerging industries - the high society world that is fashion withÌýtiaras tears and traumas galore.ÌýWe predict awards for both Priyanka and Kangana.- they are simply electrifying on screen.

Raj: 'It's been ages since I lost myself in the cinema - "Golmaal Returns" rocks. The cinema was packed and we both laughed form beginning to end - its silly, sarky and pokes fun at everything and everyone and the star cast are brilliant.Ìý ÌýIf you want to forget your woes and be cheered up - it's the perfect antidote. "Fashion" reminded me of my days on The Clothes Show. Everything you see happening is spot on - glamour glitz and the grim reality underneath",

Pablo: "Being a bit of a fashionista I was a bit nervous about "Fashion" - would it work? Well I'm glad to say its spot on. It is wonderful compelling viewing and exposes everything. RememberÌýRobert Altman's "Pret a Porter" / well "Fashion" is on par with teeth!Ìý A must watch - Priyanka is outstanding and was taken aback as in some of the sequences I had to take a double take as she looks the spiting image of the iconic late great Parveen Babi. "Golmaal Returns" made me and Raj laugh from beginning to end. Its total nonsense reminded me of the great screwball comedies Hollywood was renowned for in the thirties. Watch it - it will make your troubles disappear"

The show was great this week and our highlight has to beÌýourÌýLove Bollywood feature - it moved us - and you guys to tears. Following our interview with Preity ZintaÌýone of our listeners emailed the show with her own story ofÌýemotional abuse and a loveless marriage and how she overcame the trauma. Who says Bollywood doesn't give people strength to overcome personal tragedies. Keep them coming in!
