Hey, how inspiring and convivial is Michael Sheen?

Chris Evans | 10:30 UK time, Monday, 26 September 2011

What an absolute TB - Top Banana. Could have chewed the fat with him till this time next week.

Which would have meant him having to be in Scotland as that's where I'm going to be.

Gonna spend the first week of my hols trying to play golf half decently in front of far too many people, with a load of golfists who are miles better than I am. It's one of many ways of depressing yourself, yet I am still very much looking forward to it. We is crazy is we not?

So - see you in a fortnight, be nice to Moira whilst I'm away and I shall return after September has evolved into October and basically it'll be Christmas.

Peace and Love and all things good.

Flintoff The Scale

Chris Evans | 10:39 UK time, Thursday, 22 September 2011

Well done and thank you to Kent County Cricket Club for hosting our Children In Need cricket match yesterday. After the gloomy meteorological underture that greeted our journey to Canterbury, the sun turned up bang on time, to bless what turned out to be a joyous afternoon.

The world famous Bunburys were on hand to play the part of our adversaries and what turned out to be infallible foe.

They have not suffered a single defeat in the twenty years they have existed, a period during which they have also raised over fourteen million pounds for charity.

Our team was largely made up of pupils fron St Lawrence School, and pals of the son of Malcolm Blumel - the guy who stumped up the cash to for the Pudsey auction prize in the first place.

Malcolm, you certainly bowled us all over with your generosity!

It's just not cricket.

Chris Evans | 06:24 UK time, Wednesday, 21 September 2011

Well it won't be today, even though it's meant to be. For today is the day we fulfil our promise to play in the Children In Need prize from last year. The one where a very generous chap called Malcolm bid many thousands of pounds to have Freddie Flintoff captain his cricket team - or his son's - as its turned out.

There will be other legends there too, and I hear whispers of some Harry Potter people being drafted in by the famous Bunbury team selector David English.

Canterbury here we come, straight after the show today. Tea and cake anyone?

Peace and Love and Howzat?

The Full English breakfast debate...

Chris Evans | 09:53 UK time, Tuesday, 20 September 2011

...on The Full English, Scottish, Welsh and Irish Breakfast Show. After definitive calls from top chefs representing all four countries, the stand out items reverberating in my ears are the tricolour of puddings from Scotland - white, black and haggis, plus the sourdough bread from Ireland, and the cockles and lava bread from Wales.

Why am I suddenly extremely hungry? Why am I on the A40? Why don't I just pull off at the next exit, and hit the nearest cafe very, very hard. I think I just might have to.

Sometimes life is like that. Admission and acceptance and now can be everything.

Mirror, signal, manoeuvre.

Peace and Love, and a fried slice.

Hope you had half as a good a weekend as I did...

Chris Evans | 10:32 UK time, Monday, 19 September 2011

...Honestly, I am pooped after too much fun. There was fancy dress, there was classic motorcars, Spitfires, cake and crumpets. You name it, we enjoyed it. And we managed to find a mini Red Arrows flying suit for Noah! He was pleased as punch, the little lad was. All good, all very good indeed.

And so begins a new week and quietly, a new regime. From going out for dinner most nights where my wife and I usually enjoy a glass of wine, we have decided to experiment with no wine and staying in. More sleep, more liver.

I'll let you know how it goes.

Peace and Love.

It's Friday, thank The Lord...

Chris Evans | 13:36 UK time, Friday, 16 September 2011

...and we kicked it off with a full English for breakfast. Peter Kay on the 50p tax rate, the licence fee, not touring again for at least eight years, and his up and coming movie aspirations - oh and what he'd do to help heal the world.

If you didn't hear it, listen again, via our website or the Ö÷²¥´óÐã iPlayer. He only came on to plug his new book, but I thought we'd make the most of him.

As I drive to The One Show (Freddie Mercury's family, Fiona Bruce and Philip Glenister - guesting this eve), the sun is trying its darndest to come out and say hello. It's muggy though - I'd rather it be fresh and pouring down.

To the Dentist first, and then meetings, make up and finally eyes down for the main event. Should be fun.

If you're anywhere near Goodwood this weekend and see an overexcited pink face, that'll be me. Be sure to give us a wave.

Peace and Love you crazy cats.

Stunning day...

Chris Evans | 10:56 UK time, Thursday, 15 September 2011

...to go to an historic racetrack and drop your car off for the weekend. That's what I'm doing today. Goodwood here we come.

I have a motor featuring in one of the tribute events which needs to be there on site before midnight tonight. Currently on the A40 on the way home from work, trying to remember where and when I last had my driving goggles and silk scarf.

(Alright - I'm joking about my silk scarf, but not about the goggles).

Would love to stay there for the whole event - camping or motor-homing one year.

My goodness, there still so many things I want to do in this thing we call life.

Hope your rock is rolling on this beautiful Thursday.

Pistons and Love.

Tomorrow on the show...

Chris Evans | 11:03 UK time, Wednesday, 14 September 2011

...How about we start up top in the North of Scotland somewhere, and work our way all the nation down to the South Coast of England in food - after Melton Mowbray's guest starring role today.

It sprung from the latest episode of The Great British Bake Off, featuring one of Mr Hollywood's genius pork pie recipes made up the second challenge last night.

Mmmmmmm, Melton Mowbray! But what about Bakewell Tarts and Eccles Cakes, Kendal Mint Cake and Aberdeen Angus?

I don't see we have any choice but to get on with it.

I have to have a pie today by the way. I don't mind what sort - as long as it's proper.

Pies and Love.

Another beautiful day.

Chris Evans | 10:20 UK time, Tuesday, 13 September 2011

Well I say another, it's the second on the bounce - down here at least. Yesterday was off the scale-delicious. California blue sky, hot and everything. What's going on? I have no idea - generally - but from now on that's ok, because I've decided it's time to stop worrying about anything.

There's no point. A pound of worry never bought an ounce of 'owt...and all those other anti-worry sentiments. You are who you are, you do what you do, and the clock strikes twelve twice a day. There's a movie in that somewhere.

Peace and Love and keep moving along the sidewalk, there's nothing to see here.

Which of course means there is - always.

Red Button, Red Button, Red Button.

Chris Evans | 10:46 UK time, Monday, 12 September 2011

This is a red button clarion call.

For all those whom it may concern: highlights of yesterday's Festival In A Day, Radio 2 Live In Hyde Park are available now on the red button on your telly box.

Failing that, there are video highlights also on the main Radio 2 website, which you probably already know because you are here, reading this now.

Peace And Love guys, plus remember - Rock and Roll goes hand in hand with both of those.

To the tune of Hallelujah!

Chris Evans | 15:41 UK time, Friday, 9 September 2011

Ga-ry Barlow ! Ga-ry Barlow ! Gary Barlow ! Gary Barlow ! Ga-ree Bar-low !

What a superstar. G Barlow in for the poorly L Richie at a moment's notice, for Radio 2 Live In Hyde Park this Sunday.

It was always going to be fun, but now it's going to be off the scale. Don't know how to thank Mr B, so any ideas are welcome. Please advise.

Come on England (and the other ones). In the rugby.

Be safe, see you on the telly tonight 7 o'clock Ö÷²¥´óÐã1, with Roger Moore on The One Show; and back on the radio early Monday after a late night Sunday.

Oops, nearly forgot - will be on the radio before that live from the gig!

Rock on and peace and love.

My mate, Marky Mark...

Chris Evans | 11:59 UK time, Thursday, 8 September 2011

...has a six item breakfast every morning

Oh, plus chips! Sets him right up for the day, he says. "Why six items?" I asked him. "'Cos it's six items for a fiver with tea and toast."

I didn't ask him how much the chips cost.

How the bloke who owns the gaff does it, we don't know. Probably not the cheapest in Britain, but nor bad considering central London rent and rates.

In other thinner news, just come off the phone from Alex Jones. She is at her umpteenth Strictly costume fitting this week. "They gave me one dress and I said where's the other half - it was so small" she told me.

She's a one that girl. Cracks me right up she does. Already a star, she's only going to get bigger, in one way if not the other.

Peace and Love and look out for that new Scorcese George Harrison documentary. I've only seen half of it thus far, but it was as good a two hours of fascination as a person could hope for.

So it's Strictly Alex Jones...

Chris Evans | 12:16 UK time, Wednesday, 7 September 2011

...and what about the rest of the line up for this year's glitterball extravaganza?

The best yet. No doubt about it. What's Nancy Dell'Olio really like, how much will she sweat and will Britan take to her? We are about to find out.

Plus, will Kylie turn up to support Jason, and will Queen come and a play a tune for Anita (Mrs Brian May) Dobson? Really looking forward also to Lulu and Robbie Savage and Russell Grant.

This is a must-see series, and it all starts on Saturday Ö÷²¥´óÐã1 at 1810.

Looking forward to working with an even more toned and tanned Alex J up until Christmas. Can I vote for her now???

Peace and Love and and an added bit of paso doble...

How good is Cliff's calendar?

Chris Evans | 10:43 UK time, Monday, 5 September 2011

He's done it again. Action Cliff for 2012. The guy is 71 for crying out loud, and he looks younger than I do.

Cowboy Cliff seems to be the smash hit snap, but swimming with Dolphin Cliff can't be far behind.

The famous man of God is becoming a God like man. Whatever he's on, we all want some. Please advise if you have any ideas whatever any of it might be.

Many thanks to The Lord...

Chris Evans | 11:18 UK time, Friday, 2 September 2011

...for Sue Johnston this morning on the radio programme the Ö÷²¥´óÐã allow us to do five days a week. She came to discuss her new autobiography "Things I Couldn't Tell My Mother." Sue's a proper lady. Anyone who can stick around at the top of the entertainment business for as long as she's succeeded in doing, has to be.

I once DJ'd for her, at her son Joel's birthday party when he was nine. I was a mobile disc jockey at the time, and Sue lived around the corner. She brought in a photo of the event to show me. I was dressed in a most bizarre outfit, which I remember thinking was cool at the time. Skimpy, velour, paint splattered jogging bottoms that were about three sizes too small for me, a T shirt, trainers and a Radio 1 roadshow hat. Apparently the team have posted it up on our . I dare not look - in case they're telling the truth.

HAGWY'ALL (have a good weekend y'all)

See you on the telly tonight. The One Show is back to The One Hours Show for six weeks.

Blackpool Tower, Stoke, Tiger Bread.

Chris Evans | 11:46 UK time, Thursday, 1 September 2011

Migraines and the now thankfully closed football transfer window. Plus much, much more.

Just another show at the start of another day. What to talk about, what to leave out, and who knew Bobbie Pryor - in with the travel for Lynn off on her jols at the moment - wouldn't give Gorgeous George (Clooney) a second look?! She's not interested for a second.

Sue Johnston is our guest tomorrow discussing, amongst other things, her autobiography - Things I Wouldn't Tell My Mother. Can't wait. Tune in or miss out.

Peace and love.
