Aled

Another busy 24 hours.

Despite being in Germany with all her colleagues, I'd like to think that she still had a good birthday. Following my new game "This is Your Life" (entirely original work), then a birthday card presented to her at a service station with a handfull of toilet tokens lovingly collected by the team (don't worry I don't know what they are either).

We then all took Joce out for an evening meal at our local Italian!

Now that we're down south it's great. We're back on the internet and our almost working wi-fi is back on-line. My laptop can now recieve the signal at my chalet but not send the info back (or something). I found a spot where I could set up and Skype all my friends that I haven't spoken to in quite a while!

The only downer to coming South is that I had JUST found a pool that I was comfortable with up north. While the others in the team went to Cologne to see the game the other night I went to the local (deserted) pool. I got in guessing it to be 15metres in length. After doing 40 lengths I got out thinking I'd roughly equalled my previous best. Only to be told by the lifeguard that it's a 25 metre pool!! Woo-hoo! That's a whole 400 metres more than my personal best.

That's a huge relief because I've slowly been getting more panicked that I'd only managed 600 metres out of the 1,600 I need to achieve in around a 3 weeks time! Incidentally, if you've e-mailed me showing an interest in swimming with me to raise money for Sport Relief, thank you, we got a LOT of e-mails so we're just going through them working out numbers.

I have received criticisms from people here in America for paying more attention to the World Cup than to the Miami Heat.

Even members of my Cuban-American Community has said "Football is an Anti-Anerican Game". My response: "I like football and ALL Sports".
