I was actually dreading turning 30. Not because of the new age bracket I have to tick on forms (thanks btw to every friend of mine for pointing that one out), not because I'm now universally accepted as old :( but because after all the build up and excitement I've had looking forward to yesterday (since pretty much my 29th birthday) I feared it would be an almighty anti-climax.

How wrong was I!

My birthday hour on the show classes as one of my highlights at Radio 1! I can't thank the team enough for spoiling me on air yesterday! Chris, Dave, Rachel, Carrie and Dom made me feel so special and I have Jocelin to thank for all the messages. (Oh, and Radio 1 music team for letting me have the brill Aled Half Hour!). Thanks also to everyone who wrote a birthday message for me off the back of Rach's blog.

After the show we all went to our local Indian for a curry (didn't really think through how weird it would be to have a curry during the daytime!). I then broke off had my Deep Tissue Massage that the team got me. (SO relaxing even if she did ask me to get naked 鈥 felt like I was back in Germany!). I then went and had my first ever cut-throat wet shave with a hot towel that Uncle Ferg bought me. (A very strange experience as I found it hard to relax knowing he had a blade to my throat 鈥 but for a dark haired person as myself an amazingly close shave 鈥 I'm still smooth a day later).

Hit Soho, met up with my mates, had a lovely dinner at a nice restaurant then hit my favorite bar for some Britney/Madonna/Girls Aloud videos, drinking and dancing.

I've taken the day off work 鈥 which feels really strange. I took it off to not only have a lie in after my heavy night out but also to receive my birthday present to myself... a new 40鈥 LCD TV :)
