Poland

Comedy Dave | 17:36 UK time, Thursday, 23 October 2008

Hi there Thursday fans. Dave here with an update all about Thursday. On my way home today, I went to get my car washed at a Polish car washing place in West London. This itself isn't the most interesting of facts, but twice as I was sat on a three-legged office chair in a disused pub carpark reading a copy last Tuesday's Mirror Newspaper while the nice man did my £10 mini valet, I was confused for being the owner of the carwash.

I don't know whether this is because I look Polish, or whether I look like I could be running a carwash, but twice within the space of 10 minutes two car drivers approached me enquiring into the different cleaning options available.

Having never been there before, and being merely a customer, I could only point them towards the gentlemen holding the pressure hose and the sponge who was far better informed on the menu of car cleansing services and options that were available.

It did make me think that maybe a Gok Wan style makeover could be in order (for me not the car) but then I thought I couldn't really be bothered.

Talking of Poland, Aled thought he was going behind the iron curtain this afternoon on a secret mission to the Polish capital. He isn't of course, he's going to Walsall in the West Midlands, not Warsaw, and is set to meet up with my mate from college Andy The Greek.

Andy's dad has a hairdressing shop in Walsall called 'Smart Cut', which is set to be transformed tomorrow with some permanent markers, a large piece of cardboard and some sticky tape....into 'Chris Moyles' Smart Listeners'.

Following the moderate success of Rotherham on Monday, Aled is off to find wayward Chris Moyles show listeners currently lost in the Black Country, with the help of Andy The Greek.

So if you're passing his dad's shop on Ablewell Street Walsall tomorrow morning during the show, why not pop in for a brew, or beep your horn if you're passing in the car. Every little helps, and Aled would certainly welcome your support.

And what's even more weird is that our cleaner came today, and I think she's from Poland as well! Mental. That's three Polish things in one day, proving that we are all officially European.

Have a bon nuit

Dave.

Very interesting and entertaining. There is a factory near where I live which employs a lot of polish workers. In this small town there is only one small supermarket which therefore receives a lot of trade from said polish workers. So much so that the supermarket introduced a small range of polish foods and brands for them. :)

Just some polish related talk for you. :)

Keep up the random banter. xxx
