Great news! I still think it's right Stacey goes, even if its just for a year or so, her character needs a break! (Before anyone jumps at this, I do think she should come back eventually!)

jean is epitome of a good mother she is a very strong convincing character i would rate her acting almost on a par with stacey, lets not forget her bout with bi-polar and the heartache sean caused her, good on u mum don't stay away too long

I am absoloutely thrilled with this news. Jean Slater is one of my favourite characters in the show and Gillian is an amazing actress and brings such warmth and fun to the character. I'm delighted she's coming back - and I'm looking forward to seeing what her storyline is. I think she's great in scenes with Kat, Alfie and Big Mo. I think Jean may play a part in Kat and Ronnie's upcoming plot. I loved her line "I want to be a checkout girl" and of course "Sausage Surprise". Long live Jean Slater!

i'm so glad Gillian's returning to EastEnders next year, the character she plays, alongside Lacy Turner's is very convincing.
my wife was diagnosed with bi-polar when she was 16,and the way they both portray the illness is very life like.
keep up the brilliant work.

Gillian plays Jean really well, and it's good to see that she's coming back. It's a shame we can't say the same thing about Stacey though, I hope she will be able to return too.

Get rid of Charlie Brooks instead, her character has never ever paid for her crimes/ Janine is so boring now, a pointless character, it`s about time she was written out forever. I know Stacey killed Archie but he raped her & she wasn`t in her right mind t the time. Janine`s crimes were premeditated.

When she began to lick the neck of a beer bottle, looking at me and smiling, I realized that it was ripe for a declaration of love. Here we are ! Unfortunately I did not have big problems with English.

Like everyone else, I'm devastated to hear that Stacey's leaving Eenders! She's a wonderful actress and I voted for her in the Soap Awards because I was so convinced by her in this role. I too wish Stacey would change her mind and stay on, otherwise she'll be sorely missed...any chance she'll come back ? Same feelings about Gillian -Jean - Slater who, for all her nervous ticks, is also a fine actress. Glad to hear she'll return in the New Year, but why is she leaving only to return so soon ? Confused.

I think Gillian has been tempted back since filming her final scenes and may be committed to something else, hence the wait for her return. I predict Stacey will DIE at Christmas. Gutted she is going but it's too late now :(

I know that Ryan won't leave with stacey, i know for sure, i can't be wrong. It said on a scrip peak in the preview section of this website. He'll be in it talking to Kat on the 27th of January. And i think stacey will run away, something will go wrong and in a year when lacey turner can't find work she'll return. Bit like Kat. so stacey will go on the run and jean will self-section herself and then return when she's better or when stacey comes back. BOOM!
