Looks like a brilliant week! I'm looking forward to seeing Derek Branning. Hopefully, he'll be bigger than Phil Mitchel! Phil needs a few lessons taught and Derek looks the knda guy to teach them!

@ Hadyn I don't think Derek is the kind of guy, Phil is the king of the square. Lots of people have tried to teach Phil a lesson, but have failed such as Johnny Allen and Den Watts. Derek really doesn't look tough, he got punched by David Wicks, and Carol humliated him by telling him how ridiculous he is still living with his parents (this happened in 1996)

Look at Tanya's face when Derek arrives. The big secret has to be him involved. Add a returning Max and there will be hell. For Lauren.

@ Russell so was Johnny Allen, but look what happened to him. Sorry but I don't think anyone can really take down Phil, they can try, they may succees at first, but in the end Phil will win. EE have bigged up so mnay gangsters in the past such as Johnny Allen, George Palmer, Jack Dalton, Andy Hunter etc. Derek Branning is nohing compared to these guys. Lets just see what Derek brings to Walford, lets see if he can proof be wrong

Watch this actor in Nil by Mouth, or any of the other films he's been in with Ray Winstone and Phil Davis and you'll see he's a real hard man who can properly dish it out. Phil should be quaking in his work boots...wait and see!

In regards over Derek being able to take Phil. Apparantly Derek has just come out of prison after ten years for armed robbery. So I think he will be a hard man!!!

@ quellhead Abi isn't pregnant its Lola, she's lurking in the background behind a talking Jay and Lola as she's wondering if he could be the father of Lola's unborn child.

I don't think Tanya's big secret has got to do with Derek being Lauren's father, I think its more to do with her own dad and how he died from cancer, I think she helped him die peacefully

Just wanted to know who is older Derek or Carol as on wiki it says Carol, but some people are saying its Derek. I know who is the eldest branning sibling which is April but I don't know between these 2. After one of them 2 its Suzy, Max and then Jack

To those who say that Derek is Lauren's real father... i hope not, Tanya, Max and the kids are one of the only families where all the kids are by the same parents and to me they have always felt like the most realistic family, not because the kids are by the same parents because i know plenty of people who have kids by different partners etc.

@Ishtiab Khan hi, Derek is older than Carol. I know this because i have seen the 3 episodes in 1996 in which Derek was in before at it was stated that Derek is older. Also Derek beat up David Wicks when Carol was up the duff by him aged 14, i doubt that Derek was 12 when he did this.

I think Tanya helped her dad die too, it would be a good twist.

I've not seen Sisie or April - what kind of people are they? Plus, I know this may sound strange but if April has never been in EE and they decide to bring her in then could you make her a lesbian because there aren't any lesbians on EE and why not have a Branning as a lesbian.?

@Ofcourse April has been in Eastenders before and she was not a lesbian, she was going to marry a man called Nikos. Hwever Sonia was briefly a lesbian and she has branning blood.
