Derek isn't happy, or Whitney, or Heather so exciting to what else is happening.
I think Heather and Andrew are going to be a good couple and I can't wait till he proposes to her and sad to see Heather to leave soon. EASTENDERS IS AMAZING

Just seen tonights episode. Goodness, Fatboy got the wrong idea in his head, but it isn't his fault. I love Whitney and Fatboy as a couple!! It's a real shame, why is it always so gloomy in EE? No Happy endings, huh? Just a normal episode with a happy ending, please!! I'm not counting Friday's episode as 'happy' cause Jane left ( I didn't want her to leave) Oh well, not everyone gets what they want....

@toni i dont think she's very good. that scene when she was crying over yusef was cringe. they wont get awards just doing happy all the time. its the drama that makes it good

I have been a fan of EastEnders for 20 years but am finally losing interest ... Big time ... And it's all because of Derek Branning ... Awful pantomime character that is making a mockery of the show!
I am starting not to record the show and not to care if I miss it ... I hope the producers start to pay attention to the comments on all sites before EastEnders loses all the award ceremonies!

Yes, I agree - I wouldn`t want to live at Albert Square, it`s just full of horrible people. Who is nice there? Forget Derek or Phil, or Ben - how about Rose? I just want to punch her every time I see her. How come it was Pat and Peggy, not her and Amira, who left EE? *groan*

I think that todays Eastenders has lost its edge and Derek's storyline and character seems very old-fashioned. Smacks of ancient Crays of a bygone age. I no longer care if I miss an episode. It is flat and uninteresting.

Why aren't the Producers and writers of the Program listening to all the comments made against the character of Derek Branning. Unless a miracle occurs and he wakes up in a kinder state, I cannot believe they are keeping the part going. He is vile and disgusting and very scary. This comment doesn't necessarily detract from his acting ability, but he is more than menacing, he frightens. Lets not forget that youngsters watch this program and it is early in the evening.
It is actually getting beyond the point of acceptability and until he disappears from the program, we will not be watching. It's a huge turn off.

Sorry Ö÷²¥´óÐã but after 20 years i've just watched my last episode of Eastenders - will come back when Derek Branning leaves - this is the worst character you have ever had in your show, the man ruins every episode, are you trying to get rid off viewers????

East Enders needs more happyness, it's always doom and gloom. Is not like that in real life, people are in happy relationships.

I really, really, really can't stand Derek Branning!!!!!!!!!!! I have been switching over to another channel when he is on screen. I loved eastenders but the sight of him and his stupid attitude is putting me right off it. Please get rid of him before I totally give up on the show.

i am very sad to say that after been my favourite soap for many years i can no longer watch eastenders, i studied acting myself and am very passionate about how good people are, i cant seriously believe u have hired that awfull man to play derek branning, no offence to him as a person but why would u hire a old fat man who sweats a lot to play a gangster who every1 is supposed to be afraid of every scene he is in is so cringy how r we supposed to believe the storylines there ridiculous, the only thing i can think of is that u have hired new writers who happen to be from hollyoaks every storyline these days is far too far fetched and unbelievable, they make u question every1s acting ability. i most certainly will not be watching eastenders anymore and i dont think ur getting soap of the year award this year for sure!!!!

I agree - Derek Branning awful character.
Once again tonights episode showing impressionable people that violence and intimidation to get what you want is ok. Never any justice against these people.
I also hear the storyline for Heathers departure - surprise, surprise. Obvious and normal for a character leaving that it was not going to be a happy ending.
Any chance of scripting one NORMAL HAPPY person in the square - every character has issues. I bet the phone rings off the hook at Samaritans after Eastenders

GET RID OF DEREK BRANNING!!! I have watched every episode of Eastenders since it began n have never wanted to switch off more than when Derek came on the show. He's horrid and he just doesn't fit in....

Jim Branning is more scary than Derek, got to be the most ridiculous story line they have ever attempted. He probably wouldnt have even been able to reach up to Michaels neck never mind 'sort him out' Cant stand watching anymore

You know, as well as I do, that Derek Branning is an incredibly powerful character, played by an absolutely fantastic actor. I have always been a fan of Jamie Foreman, but in these past few months he has gone above and beyond my expectations for the character.
I'm loving the Tyler/Anthony/Michael storyline, and Derek's twist on it this evening makes it all the more enjoyable. I also REALLY can't wait to see Derek and Phil go fist to fist with each other :D EastEnders is getting back the early 2000 again (who ever said they didn't like Johnny Allen doesn't deserve an opinion). In fact, after all the horrible comments on this page, I hope Mr Foreman reads this and takes for granted that a lot of people out there do like him and like his character (Especially the storyline involving David Wicks; I'm a big Michael French fan). However, be careful; Do not use Derek to kill off any character.

Long live Derek Branning, and long live Jamie Foreman.

P.S If Heather doesn't leave with Andrew using Julia's theme, then you have messed up big time.

Loving this week of episodes, the most exciting in weeks. I love the Moon brothers and loving seeing them on screen together again.

I believe that it was the worst decision that the producer of Eastenders has ever made bringing Derek into the show. It has stopped becoming a soap and is more of a Martina Cole novel. I cringe when I watch and sometimes fast forward to miss him. I think one of the reasons why Coronation Street won the best soap was because of this.

Please get rid of Derek, he is boring and I am really fed up with seeing his face all the way through so many episodes...

After watching Hetti Bywaters portrayal of Lucy Beale i really don't like her acting i think she is stiff and unecessary to the program. Either do something drastically to the role of Lucy or bring back Melissa Suffield

New Lucy is sure a pretty girl but shame about a talent. However, the bit where she throws coffee at Mandy is brilliant. Old Lucy was horrible to Jane who was such a good step-Mum to her, but I can totally understand why the new Lucy hates Mandy. Hope she has more ideas like that in her head. But maybe Mandy is all Ian deserves, on the other hand?

@ suzanne - you think that Jamie Forman (who plays Derek) is so ugly and looking at his face makes you feel sick? Shame on you. If you were not so shallow then perhaps you would not feel so bad about Derek. I think Sonia (Carol's daughter) is very unattractive but I wouldn't call her ugly (nobody is ugly) and I did not feel sick looking at her because I'm not so shallow.
