Nice to see fresh talent on eastenders who was the reporter talking to Billy in the cafe ? Is there more to see of this young lady is there a new story line blooming, about time Billy had another confusing romance ? !

Oh yes wouldn't it be nice for Billy to meet a lovely lady she looks perfect for the role. I really loved her coat.

Reporter on the case!! I wonder if this "hot number" will get further then DI Marsden...already buying Billy a drink i wonder what thats about???? where will this lead?? very exciting stuff, everyone knows getting involved with the Mitchells is dangerous!!!!!!

Yes indeed, more fresh talent needed and the new reporter seems just the ticket. I like the look of her.

Monday episode:

Jay ALWAYS protected Ben and he repays him by stitching him up?!
Ben really should've just left Walford and stay with Grandma Peggy,
forget about Phil completely.
Even if Jay does go down for Ben, it's not like it is worth Ben to stay
in Walford just because he escaped going back to Juvie.

Yes i agree it was great to see new people in the show! - that reporter was fab!!! - more needs to be seen of her though!!! - ala News of the World! - she should be hacking phones in walford and everything!! im hoping that this will turn out to be a long story scandal to use Billy for the information he knows!

I agree, it would be good to bring a little of reality to the show with a newspaper scandle and a romance gone-wrong-type-thing for billy,the reporter (if thats what she was im presuming we will wait and see)had more lines than tracy behind the bar did for the first three years she was there!!
Getting involved with the FAMILY Mitchells will alway spell trouble !!

I think Jay should tell Shirley and Andrew what happened. It is rich, Ben complaining to Ian about being a grass after what he did to Phil.
The only fitting tribute to Heather would be JUSTICE. Whether that is a prison sentence for Ben, or death by Shirley. She already hates the little worm, so I think she would literally hang him up by the unmentionables and breathe fire on him. And if Andrew finds out..... wow, Ben will WANT to go to prison just to escape.
Ö÷²¥´óÐã.... for once, PLEASE show justice to be served quickly. This is not a storyline that needs to be dragged out for months.

i agree with yo paganlyle, they dragggeedd out the baby swap.way too long,almost to the boring phase,lets have some respect for all murder victims and their families by serving justice to the real murderer instead of another innocent man go down,and not let it drag out to the point that we no longer want to watch somthing else

I don't think phil should of helped ben out to start with, he should of given him to the police in the first place, i hope east enders doesn't drag this out for to long.(hate it when they do that it get too boring) wanted hev to have her happy ending at last and it want be a happy ending for anyone if the wrong man goes down

yes it is a play trully but there should always be some reallity of life so as to serve a deterent for viewers especially when it comes to crime, therefore don`t encourage potentially criminal youths to believe they can twist justice by incriminating someone else by the help of their criminal parent(s) or mate, in this case, don`t allow it to drag too long and most importantly don`t let andrew stay another day in police cell talkless of going down then let ben face the right punishment afterall he is 16 now and phil punished for trying to pervert justuice,aiding and habouring criminal

I know a lot of people hate Ben right now, but to be fair, the poor kid's had it rough... Phil treated him unfairly when he told him he way gay. Remember, being young, gay and not having a secure home has gotta be stressful, not to mention being responsible for the murder of his friend :-(
I cried when Phil and Ben hugged!!! There should be more of this. Shirley, though, is just making things worse for everyone. She should really be less of a drama queen -_-

how is shirley being a drama queen? :S she's just lost her best friend. she's grieving. she doesnt have a clue what ben did or that phil and jay are so upset. why should she act like she's okay just to make it easy for them? the whole point of this story is that heather was shirleys best friend. thats why phil feels so guilty

Monalisa is right. And deep inside, Shirley feels really guilty too - she fell out with Heather right before her death and they have no chance to hug and make up now. But as for Phil, to see Shirley in pieces is THE ONLY thing that makes him feel guilty. He never liked Heather, he just thought she was stupid. And he never liked her friendship with Shirley, because he is possessive. Weak people are often possessive, and Phil is a tough guy on the outside, but weak really. He is deeply shocked that his son is actually capable of killing someone for nothing, but he doesn`t care about Heather.

@bigsmile i never thought of it like that. he did mention something in the prison scenes in the ep when heather died about their friendship. i always thought it was just cos he couldnt stand heather do you think he loves shirley?

@ monalisa: Phil and Shirley are quite similar in many ways. For example, both quite tough on the outside with this "you don`t mess with me" attitude, but weak and insecure really. And they love each other in their own way, as much as they are capable of it. And Shirley hates Andrew for having to share Heather with him, and Phil hates Heather for having to share Shirley with her. Possessive, you see.

OMG Where are Christian & Syed??? No wonder ratings are dropping when we constantly have to put up with horrible characters such as Lauren Branning & Ben Mitchell, and we are lucky to see great loveable characters such as Christian & Syed once every 2 months...if that!!!! I know John Partridge was doing panto or 6 weeks but he has been back working at Enders since January! Come on get your act together Eastenders...you wont win best soap if you dont deserve it! Give Chryed some well deserved screen time :-(

I don't think it's fair that so many people hate Ben! He has made mistakes, but Shirley, Phil and Ben haven't been great at being role models, have they?! Shirley isn't the only one missing Hev, as wise old Dot says...

@ monalisa: Phil is Phil, he will never treat his woman right. But he does love Shirley - in his own way, as I said.

That's just my personal opinion anyway :-)

But in a way, Ben would never have murdered Hev in the first place if Phil hadn't scared him so much. He thought his own Dad wanted to kill him just for not being the son he always wanted and sending him to prison! How would that make you feel? Ben is Ben, too! If I met Ben in real life, I'd get him to make up with Ian, too. He didn't know Hev would get hurt. He'll be so angry with himself when and if he finds out :-(

Friday's episode just proves me right when I say Shirley is very possessive about Heather. Shirley yelling at everyone at the Vic was rather disgusting.

@monalisa: because all the people are different, and Phil is different. As I said, to be this caring and nice guy - that`s just not him. And if someone have different opinion to yours, they are not stupid or on something.

But he loved kate and was nice to her. He can be nice and we should see it more but he just treats her crap he was so lovely on monday

monalisa: I started watching EE just a few years ago, approximately since when Stella died, so I don`t know what Phil was like with his women before Stella. But if the writers make him treat some women nicely and mistreat other women, then it has nothing to do with the real life.
And at those who defend Ben: he did kill someone, and on top of that Heather was a mother, so I don`t even care why did he become this monster. He has to be punished - full stop.

Cant it be that he loves shirley more than his other woman and hates it cos shes not who he wanted to end up with so therefor treats her crap to avoid the real stuff? Like on monday he wanted to avoid going to heathers cos he was scared of getting upset etc and he admitted to ben he was using her over this and hated it. I think hes slowly starting to realie how muh he loves her and stuff coming up will stop him from using her. I think hes emotionally attached to her and thats why he cant let her go and wont hit her like he did his other women

@ monalisa: remember, after when Phil had a heart attack, he proposed to Shirley. Because this near death experience showed him that he does need her and does care about her. And as for hitting Shirley, she would smack him right back!;)

exactly it was more about needing her. not actually loving her. he used her in wedding ep by making her think he wanted her and he's been like that ever since. misleading her. if he really cared he would be honest and stop misleading her.
