if They are leaving, then I will no longer be watching EastEnders, this breaks my heart.

As a fan of Chryed, this news is bittersweet, JP & ME have portrayed the love story between Christian and Syed, beautifully. I've complained many times about the lack of screentime, given to them and it has been terrible to see characters with a lot of potential and talented actors so criminally underused. My only wish now is that Chryed, get the happily ever after they and their fans deserve.

I am really sad to hear that they are leaving as i have loved their stories and think they are absolutley brilliant. However, i am looking forward to seeing what the future holds for them. Best of luck!! :-)

I am sure this opinion will be unpopular, but regardless... I will not be at all upset to see these characters leave. Christian has nothing left in Eastenders since his sister, Jane, left. He has become a superfluous entity. As for Syed, he still has potential but unless Amira resurfaces, his storylines are most likely very limited and mundane.
Its a good decision by Marc Elliott to choose to leave at this time. And even better, that it spells the end of Christian too.
My question is.... seeing as Eastenders will now be empty of a gay character, will there be a replacement? I would love to see a Bisexual or Transgender join the lineup.

If they have to leave, can they please take Sharon with them so she can take some acting lessons before she returns... yet again!!! :D

Ive readi it this morning and i still cannot belleve they leave.....What surprise will be again?who is leaving and we not know?Exit all the acters if u can .All the good actors leave i just dont get why?

I'm in the US and have just recently gotten into the Chyred storyline and I have to say its bittersweet for me too as I just started watching it. Thank GOD for youtube where the story line can be watched in its' entirety but it still means it's coming to an end. I'd hate to see them go but at the same time, I felt something was up with the recent month of little to no screentime for the guys. And to think about it, what else is there really for them...wait (squell) THE WEDDING!!!?? pwease or pwease (falls on knees to Ö÷²¥´óÐã bosses) pwease give them their wedding and have them ride off to a happy ending. Don't pull an "As the World Turns" gay plot line where one is heart broken and the other moves away. (still havent gotten over that...)

I agree with Daxzia. A wedding between them would be great, but we are down to Corrie for a fey gay couple. Emmerdale has a lesbian couple, but after their crap Jackson-Aaron storyline was yet again gongs for 2 straight guys playing gay. Wow. A tragic end and they leave.

With Eastenders there was John, who is openly gay, but there was one less gay couple. It's a good thing because I can let go of Eastenders and watch Verbotende Liebe and the interesting and a gay relationship I can relate to, with Christian and Oliver, or 'Chrolli'. They are by far the most believable couple to date, and their following has been very strong globally. Good Luck!

No, please don't. I've developed quite an addiction to the two of you. Don't leave, please. You've been the most adorable and cutest of all characters and cast on EastEnders. I'm not sure if I'll ever watch EE after you've gone. Or don't you think Christian could stay and start a more successful relationship leading to a happy marriage after all he's experienced? He deserves happiness.

Not surprised they wanna leave since the rubbish new writers have ignored Johnny & Marc's talents for most of the year and havnt given them a new storyline before now! Well done Eastenders for guareteeing the ratings fall even lower, Bravo!...sense the sarcasem. Alot of fans are 100% sure to switch off now. There was alot of speculation the show was heading for a landslide once Bryan Kirkwood left....guess you've proved the rumours right! I wish John Partridge & Marc Elliott all the luck in the world and hope they move on to bigger & better things where their talents will not be wasted anymore! Good luck Eastenders lol your really gonna need it now! Just hope the writers at least have the brains to give Chryed the happy ending they deserve. :-\

I didn't have much of an opinion on Christian and Syed but even I have to admit that they were underused which is a shame really. I'd much rather have watched a storyline between these two than the ridiculous Kat affair storyline. How many more characters are going to suffer because of screentime given to the same players (Kat, Alfie, Max, Tanya etc). It's time better characters like Roxy and Denise should be able to shine and be at the forefront before they suffer the same fate.

i don't wanna sound mean but i hope they don't have a happy ending it would be great to see them go out with a BANG or something we haven't seen on any soap before! best of wishes keep on with the smile

frankly doesn't come as a surprise that marc would want to move on, given that both characters appear about once every few months if they're lucky. their characters aren't boring, the writers clearly just gave up on thinking of imaginative things for them . it's ridiculous frankly, a lot of people watch the show for them & i just hope that they DO get their happy ending and stop all of this syed turning to scamming again, their characters should be left untarnished!! after all, the episode they leave will be the last time i tune in to eastenders - better make it a good 'un.

OH and there better be NO AFFAIRS with the new "city guy" just because he's gay. that's like saying there's a new straight guy on the block, WATCH OUT ALL STRAIGHT COUPLES YOUR RELATIONSHIPS ARE AT RISK. it's ridic. fed up.

I'm gunna miss u guys! been amazing characters and played a big part im my life!!! I only have one wish really, they go out happy and as a couple because they have been through so much, it seems unfair to make them leave seperatly. Anyhow i wish Marc and John all the best in the future and i hope to see them on other tv show!! xxx

Before they leave, can Johnny & Marc PLEASE do a tv interview on their own? No Preeya. No Gary Lucy. Just them. On their own. It's ludicrous that it's never happened in all the time they've been on the show.

Like i said since last year WITH THE BABY SWAP Rony alot of good acters departured and onlt few names:
Ryan,Rainie,Ronnie,Pat,Bianca,Carol,Amira,Jane,Stacey,Mandy,Heather,Alifia,Dot,Rckie and now Shirley,next will be Syed and Christian,Janine.
Whtas the truth behind the soap Lorraine?Whats the reason of people going and coming?We are the viewers and we pay for this to watch.As executive producer u should come in here and explain the real reason why people are going...Or maybe they are not paid enough to stay?Like i said u as a executive producer is time to face the real public and give us some real explanation..It sounds harsh but i think we dezerve that dont u think?

As a big fan of both actors and characters I have very mixed emotions about this. Am not in the slightest surprised they'd want to leave since they've been horribly mistreated and neglected on the show for the better part of the last two years, and a big part of me is relieved that they wont have to be anymore. It's absolutely baffling to my mind that they literally have to decide to leave to get a s/l. On the other hand I'm really, really sad that they wont light up my screen and the streets of Walford anymore and I'm incredibly sad (and angry) thinking about all the wasted opportunities there's been, they are practically endless. So, so much could have been done with such a story, such characters and such actors which now never will. But, most of all I wish John Partridge & Marc Elliott all the luck in the world. I know they're bound to move on to bigger & better things where their talents will come to full use again.

Sad to hear the news that Chryed about to leave the square. But as in life things are moving on and so are the actors. I wish them both well and I'm also wishing for a happy ending ( Just hope Eastenders hears me)

I think its good there leaving the show I think both characters have had enough storylines and there characters have gone as far as possible in the show .they need to get rid of a few more characters there's to many in the show
