Ö÷²¥´óÐã

The wealth of traditional music here in Virginia, where I am stationed, is quite staggering. It's also an interesting time to be here because Michael Palin's sister is running for vice-president of the United States. She doesn't seem to have inherited much of her brother's sense of humour though she can grin and wink like a poodle licking vinegar off a thistle.

Any road up - back to the music. Wandering round a county fair last week I came across a guy I haven't seen since we filmed him for a Ö÷²¥´óÐã series in 1982. is a great player and maker who also makes wooden canoes (I suppose any of his dulcimers that don't make it just have a poop deck and an anchor added and away you go).

Anyway, there he was playing away in a tent in a field full of other tents selling Pennsylvania-Dutch rocking chairs and Wooly Boogers, so we had a bit of a natter, he gave me a copy of his new CD and I took a photo of him which you can see .
