There's a lot of love in Lau, but we do spend an awful lot of time together, gigging,
recording and rehearsing and now we've taken up a new calligraphy hobby
together - our time apart is precious.
So, we get to Edinburgh on Monday evening and say our fond farewells. It's going to be a long week apart before we head off to Spain via Cambridge ..

We're not an hour apart when Big T, (Tom Rose our manager) calls to confirm we
have a Scotland on Sunday interview the following afternoon in Edinburgh.
Oh good we'll get to hang out together again soon!
We meet in Sandy Bell's, Edinburgh's most famous folky hangout at 2pm. It's nice to see the boys' cheeky faces again.
The lovely interviewer turns up and puts up with our boisterous ramblings for an hour or so and again we part. So sad. "See you next week then." "OK bye". "Cheers the now..."
Walking across the Bridges the phone goes. Radio Scotland interview on Thursday night in Glasgow. Oh well, it'll be good for the three of us to catch up...
Lau are a four-man team on the road. There's the three that you may be familiar with, short (Frodo), tall (Orknoid) and medium (Phil Mitchell) and the priceless forth:
Tour manager, sound engineer, driver and fixer of all things Tim Matthew.
He's the oil in our previously clunky machine. When not at this you'll catch him
fronting the very excellent Edinburgh rock'n'roll, break-beat-blues band .
And it was his birthday last night! There was a lovely gathering in the vintage Waverley Bar on St Mary's Street. Which was a previous home to a fine folk club right through the 60s. The place reeks of history.
It was nice to see Kris there. We had a pint.....!
I'm at home in Linlithgow now and the sun's shining. I'm making minor adjustments to a
new piece of music I've written for
and also looking ahead to Lau's next adventure.
Cambridge on Monday to record a music video for our new song, Winter Moon. Then a gig at the Junction in same city on Tuesday night.
Should be fun. Martin's told us he was given the key to the city when he
left four years ago for Scotland, so we're looking forward to seeing that.
On Wednesday we head to Asturias in northern Spain for a few gigs.
When we return, we have our Scottish Arc Light album launch at the Bongo Club on
Thursday 19. That should be fun. Hope to see some of you at this.
