it was a weekend of gigs. with a trip to Stoke on Friday night for a Sons nigh out, probably the most eventful night out in a long time with a fire alarm going off and everything. Ooh, and having an ex-Smith have a go at me. Nice. Thursday night was good with Threatmantics, Shes Got Spies and Mr Huw, and Saturday night in Crdiff too. Yougn Knives ere brilliant - their new tracks sund really strong, as well as the old favourites of course. I say old, theyre not realy, you know what I mean. Also saw Gethin Pearson and the Scenery who was good - he's in session on Radio 1 Wales in a couple of weeks. Sunday night saw Cymbient play a great gig, with supoort from JT Mouse - hadn't seen him play for a while and was on top form with his odd, skee-whiff amazing lyrically tunes. And then I slept, ate eggs, listened to El-P, Bruce Springsteens Nebraska, Rob da Bank's show, and the Bright Eyes album.
I couldn't nake Stoke but you don't say what you thought of the bands, even TISC. I have seen them live over two years (festivals n gigs) and they get better but they seem too awesome live to get that special feel onto CD. I'm waiting for a breakthro' to the next level - why aren't they at more festivals esp. Glasto?
What do you think?
