Ello Ello!

It's been a better than brilliant day on the Introducing Stage here at Glasto. The Park area is full of wonderful people getting on down to wonderful music.....

Two rawkus guitar bands got a storming reaction onstage; The Chapman Family from Newcastle and Brute Chorus from London. The former smashed guitars into tiny little bits and the latter had an amazing crowd response also. Both tight, energetic sets, they were real highlights. Yorkshire's Grinny Grandad brought a funkier alternative sound to the stage, and London's MC Bashy, a true master at whipping the crowd into a frenzy spat some ace rhymes.

Last year The Ting Tings played their fourth ever gig on the stage, and from the same label that launched them, Manchester's Switchflicker records, Magic Arm played his first gig with a band. Beautiful, subtle tunes with a dose of gorgeous melodies, it was a special gig. Reading's Fox Cubs, much loved by Steve Lamacq (broadcasting his 6Music show from Glasto today), were on fine form with their city-slicker punky tunes.

Bryn Christopher told me he wants to be air-lifted onto the stage next year, and air-lifted off too. Right now he's wowing the crowd in front of the Introducing stage with his funky-soul jams. Good Welsh name too. i told him about the track called Bryn on Vampire Weekend's album; both artists played behind the stage this morning for Jo Whiley's show.

Onwards into the night and looking forward to tomorrow when Picture Books in Winter, Welsh harpist Georgia Ruth, The Kabeedies and The Cock n Bull Kid amongst more will be playing!

Huw.
