Tip of The Week: Discopolis - Lofty Ambitions

Discopolis are the first band to be plucked from the Ö÷²¥´óÐã Introducing Reading + Leeds 2011 line-up and thrusted into the limelight of the Radio 1 playlist. If you haven't seen the line-up yet, get yourself over to our Reading + Leeds website and have a little listen to see what takes your fancy. Remember, it all kicks off this Friday (26th August) so be sure to check back here for the very best videos and photos of all the wonderful bands, dj's, mc's, songwriters and 'lovers fighters dreamers seekers vagabonds rakes hellbound fakes steak eaters' that will be gracing our stage.

Discopolis will be playing:

7.55pm Saturday at Reading

7.45pm Sunday at Leeds

Both great times to perform; the beats, ciders and straw hats will be in full swing, the tent will be rockin' and hopefully nobody will have passed out and been carried back to their tent (yet).

Ok so before you all agree to go rushing off to our stage I suppose you're wondering who are these kids? Well, they're a young three-piece from Edinburgh who create electro indie house music using synthesizers, computers, guitars, drum machines and anything in between. The three schoolfriends formed in 2010 and began playing live in 2011, being selected for T in the Park's T Break initiative after just two gigs. This summer they've been honing their live act at summer festivals across Scotland, so expect them to be nice and warmed up for these two coming gigs.

This is their first single, Lofty Ambitions which has been released on digital label . You can hear it here right now, all week on Radio 1, and I imagine at Reading and Leeds too.
