Dear aspiring musicians, if you want to make a compelling atmospheric entrance to your next gig, then watch this.

That's how Worship introduced themselves to Glastonbury 2011, and despite the crowd not being at it's fullest, I can assure you this performance made a big impression on the people who were there (Greg James even mentioned it during his Ö÷²¥´óÐã3 coverage). So who or what exactly are Worship and what do they do?

‘Worship make brilliantly moody, haunting music. Soaring vocals and tense, synth laden atmospherics give the band a genuine mystique and set them out as one of the most promising prospects to have come along in a good while.’

I've no idea who said that, but whoever did got it spot on! Because that's exactly what they do. Forming in 2010 they started off strong, playing gigs with bands like We Have Band, Pete & The Pirates, Esben & The Witch and Minotaur Shock, and being invited to perform a Maida Vale session for Rob Da Bank. However, not wanting to get ahead of themselves, in the Summer of 2010 they headed to Norway for a month to concentrate on writing, recording, producing and mixing all their tracks by themselves in a small residential studio.

Taking the time out obviously paid off, as they've since picked up support slots with the likes of Post War Years, A.N.R, Trophy Wife, and Does It Offend You Yeah? as well as playing Rockness, Glastonbury, Lounge On The Farm and Standon Calling.

This track Collateral is a dark, haunting experience, and is typical of Worship's sound. It might scare a few people off who have been casually bopping along to Fearne Cotton on Monday morning, but for those with a stronger stomach, this could take you into a dream within a dream within a dream type state for the the next 3 minutes 30. Just be careful you don't slip into limbo...
