He says that his Slowthai moniker comes from a childhood nickname, born out of friends commenting on his slow speech and that his music speaks out for a generation of kids swinging between anger and apathy at the unsettled times they’ve found themselves born into. The track may be a warping rap bop but it's also a tribute to Slowthai's mother, her mother and all the other women in his life.
