I would like to know myself about SaBbi Rock.

I saw him last night myself, under the Oxford Road railway bridge. He seems to get around.

His sign has changed! It had a date on it this morning... 15th Nov!? Maybe it's the end of the world? :p

Richard - I've seen him on the dual carraigeway of Chester Road, Trinity Way and - yesterday - on Fairfield Steet (sans sign though!).

Ive seen him for the last week or so under the bridge at the beggining fot he mancucian way(salford end), he was'nt there this morning thought. I think the post above about him promoting that american rock site is too easy, there must be a good conspiricy story in here somewhere.

I鈥檓 an Estate Agent so I'm constantly on the move, over the last couple of weeks I must have seen this guy who looks like a Voodoo James Bond Bad Guy at lease 20 time's, Last night I decided to stop get out and ask him what he's doing! And like Duncan said he's very vague he just said "its a music site" www.sabirock.co.uk but it doesn鈥檛 work or exist!

I just saw the Sabi Rock guy, stood in the pouring rain in the middle of two junctions. Gave me a deep smouldering look before a car splashed him as it drove past.

The website doesn't work! Maybe I should go and tell him!

I think he is having us all on, hes still at it I saw him on Friday 22nd Sept bout 4.14pm just near the co-op buliding. I suspect he has a warped sense of houmour or is possibly a little deluded. I am awaiting him to prove me wrong....

This looks like a home page, and seems to have a track listing for an album. There don't seem to be any other pages, however.

Maybe the mystery is part of the stunt.

I saw him last night stood near the gardens hotel on picadilly. was running to catch a train though so could not stop to ask him what it is all about!

I think his favourite morning spot was just off the manc way towards salford under the bridge on the way to Salford. Although it may be a bit cold for him now, I used to drive past him on the way to work most mornings.

Thought he'd gone away but then he came from nowhere and walked past on whitworth street opposite o'sheas.

The mystery around it is amazing!

me and my brother spoke to this guy. one day on market street. i didnt think thered be information about him online but i came across this bbc blog. we spoke to him, he told us its his band and that hes the site is going to be up soon. he didnt say much. he asked us if we could log onto the internet through our mobiles though and download music? was a really strange day. saw him again on princess street the other day. hes doing well to grab peoples attention!

I have seen this crazy guy too he lives near me. I have often wondered what he is all about adn I did'nt realise that so many other people were thinking the same thing. I shall endevour to ask him next time I see him, and return my findings to the rest of the sabirockers!

I first saw the guy back in August under the bridge at the city centre end of the Mancunian Way. I've also seen him on the grass verge on the dual carriageway near Asda in Moss Side. My Dad seems him most mornings at 7am on his way to work. Stood on the central reservation of the Mancunian Way (well dangerous!).
I emailed the MEN weeks ago to run a story and find out who he was but they obviously weren't interested and didn't email back!
If it is the guy who used to busk outside Boots - he was crazy! Couldn't play guitar just used to randomly strum and shout!

Good luck to sabi rock guy anyway and I think I just have to buy the album as it'll be nostalgia to look back on over the yrs as me and my mates find it hillarious and have to ring each other each time we see him. Beats train spotting I guess!

I too was facinated by Sabi Rock man and actually felt sorry for him, thinking he was paid to stand there as some PR stunt for an emerging band. Just saw his site though (www.sabirock.co.uk) and he just seems to be quite a mediocre musician. I would suggest he stays home to work on his guitar playing and less time looking sinister in the middle of the Mancunian Way.

I do love a good eccentric though - he scores top marks for that bless him.

I've seen this guy loads of times since Christmas. His web address is sabirock.co.uk not .com. Judging by the amount of time he spends in rain and cold, I'd say he deserves a record deal.

I have seen the Sabi Rock guy a couple of times. I have even Stood inches from him.
At one point I managed to speak to him & asked "who are you", he just ignored me and showed me his sign.
I asked him again in frustration what the hell is "Sabi Rock" & to my complete suprise he said

That was my last encouter with the Sabi Rock man.
I have also today realised that the reason that most people can never find his website is that it's not a .com but a .co.uk website.
Also that it isn't listed on the search engines very well.

So we can establish that he maybe trying to promote a record label of some kind and that he has a website we can also view, but it looks like were going to have to wait and watch this space to find out more.

the information was obatined using a WHO IS internet search on his domain www.sabirock.co.uk.

I have spoken Barry Kinder who was involved in the development of the website and he was also unsure as to the Sabi Rock mans motives.

I asked him who was Sabi rock? and whether he could put me intouch with the guy, but I was told that he does not have any contact information for Sabi Rock.

I then asked what is the purpose for the website, and was told that it was a website that Sabi Rock wanted made, possibly "trying to promote himself as a musician".

This is all I have for now and will update you all very shortly.

It pleases me to know that I am not alone in my curiosity!! I've seen this guy too - heaps of times - don't like the music too much - but 10/10 for effort!!!

We saw him on Ashton Old Road on Tues 13. I though it was that guy off jeepers Creepers from the back. After we passed we thoguht he was going to fly and jump on the top of the car and lick the glass!

Music is average really, guitar sound is too loud and voice is a little rushed and unclear imo.

Recently he's been at the traffic lights near the Frog and Bucket Oldham St sitting on the railings around 8:30am. Today there was only his sign though. I'm desperate to know more!

Spoken to the Sabirock guy just this week. Seemed like a decent bloke, likes keeping the mystery and personally, I like his music. His hat is really cool too, I think he made it, and he knows that gets attention too. True PR Legend.

I reckon he lives in Gorton because I've often spotted him walking past my house to get the bus on Hyde Road. He's has interesting taste in hats! I didn't know he moved around so much, I've also seen him at the Hyde Rd/Pottery Lane junction where he has (or did have) a permanent sign attached to the pedestrian island. All his hard work will pay off once the Sabi-Rock site's up if people are talking about him this much...

After not seeing him for a couple of months, I saw him walking in Levenshulme and then along Oxford Road in the same day. I also saw him again this morning walking down Mosley Street this morning. Legend.

we saw "Sabi Rock" on Princess street just off Oxford Road today, followed him around MI5 style but in the blink of an eye he disappeared into thin air, we believe he's Houdini re-incarnated Honest!!!

Saw 'Sabi Rock' guy this morning and as mentioned when you make eye contact with him he just stares at you. He walked to the end of Salford crescent and pirouetted around a lamp post to change direction, strange but highly amusing. I tried the website and it still doesn鈥檛 work...

Spotted him twice in the last couple of days in central Manchester. Yesterday walking along Piccadilly bus station.

I know the website was up a few months ago, so maybe he hasn't been paying his provider, seeing as it's not available again.

He deserves to get some financial backing from someone for his sheer persistence.

I see him, his site has been closed down evidently through no fault of his own. When his web site was up his music was pretty good, his voice is alright and power to a man who gets up early and walks miles to promote himself. Ok this guy has had quite an underground following of sorts for ages now, yet I think there may be more to it than just music. after a quick seach for meaning I found this

perhaps the real meaning of sabi, is an altered state of mind, and the rock, well it just has to be crack cocaine or something...thus, sabirock guy is probably a crack dealer lmao.

We live in Gorton and have noticed the sabirocks guy and his eccentric dress code for about two years now. John thought he was one of our Gorton eccentrics. We have quite a few. We see him walking on Hyde Road, Knutsford road and towards the Ryder Brow estate off Levenshulme road. We presume that he lives in that direction. Then last winter he began sppearing with his sign at the junction of Hyde road and Alan Turing way and seems to have been traveling from then on. Have you seen him with his coat inside out, wierd.

I think we should all club together and but hima 4-track or 6-track, just so he doesn't need to record his songs on a dictaphone... the quality is awful.

At least we all know that it doesn't matter how bad your songs potentially are, you will get some people listening to them if you walk for the entire road system of Manchester with a sandwich board on you!

A friend of mine was running a UK Online computer training centre and was visited by Mr sabirock.co.uk who wanted help to build a website.According to this friend Mr sabirock.co.uk showed him a video of himself stripping wallpaper in a room then re-wallpapering and then re-stripping and so on. He said it was the best video he had ever seen and reminiscent of the Bill Drummond (if you know who he is, if not please skip this bit) cutting a painting into 30,000 equal pieces video. I personally would love to see his video sounds like a proper work of art.

This morning Sabi was walking out of town on Ashton New Road as I was driving in. Finally remembered to look him up. Cool looking character and clearly has a great eye for PR. Is he going to come out at some stage or remain an enigma?

This has been driving me nuts. 5 days a week I drive from Gatley to Salford and I see this guy at various points along the way. Every morning I see him and think "I'll look that up" but then I get to work and loose it. Tonight I rememberd to look him up when I got home and find he's been freaking everyone out for years. I really was beginning to think I was being set up for some kind of Derren Brown stunt. I've seen this guy in Gatley and at all points along my journey to work. I see him now and I just stare at him and he smiles back. I'm glad I'm not the only one. I hope he's a nice guy and that he's just giving a lot of people this thing in common. I saw him this morning, I asked him what it was all about and he said he was promoting a record label but unfortunately he got knocked over on Ancoats as his sign fell in the middle of the road so it has been delayed.

He had to spend all of his money on a new sign (I am sure you will agree, it is a lot more slick than the last one) ... I believe he has used a higher quality black marker this time.

I saw sabirock man this morning opposite the philpots sandwich shop. It was about 6.15 he looked cold and odd. One minute he was there then when i turned round he had gone.
