I find it very strange that when the bomb plots were foiled Ö÷²¥´óÐã Office ministers were queueing up to give interviews on TV. (in fact John Reid was never off my TV screen).But now that they are having questios asked about how they conducted themselves in this matter, not one minister is available to comment

I was a bit shocked by the 'when journalists attack' sequence in tonight's show. The sting in the cafe was poorly conceived and very poorly executed. Who was that journalist again?

The question to the Muslim leader about what mechanism was available to remove religious leaders who incited others to violence was very good. But it made me think, how did the Anglican church's mechanism work to remove the paedophile choirmaster? And how did the Catholic church's mechanism work to remove paedophile priests here, in Ireland, in Australia, in the US? Which is worse?

Those who live in liberal northern mill towns have known what’s going on for 25 plus years.
When concerns were raised, it was just a "northern underclass (racist)thing".
From school to work, I have known that the Asian friends had a very different concept law and order, morality and justice than I felt were my own.
When you are poor and just want to get on with life, these things seem irrelevant - those clever politicians maybe need to listen to ordinary people rather than lobbyist's and middle-class campaigners in the future.

The point was made on Newsnight that the security services seemed worringly unconcerned about the activities of the terrorists so long as these activities were outside the UK. However, it may be even worse than that. On an earlier Newsnight an agent who had infiltrated a Muslim extremist group seemed to guide the group when he asked if Dublin Airport would be consdered a legitimate target in the light of an Irish airport (shannon actually, not Dublin) being used by the US troops on the way to and from Iraq. Perhaps the Newsnight team might return to that deeply worrying report.

When the targets of suicide bombers, kidnappers and other criminals who strike fear into ordinary civilians just going about their everyday business of their lives are elsewhere in the world the perpetrators are militants but when the victims are British, as Ö÷²¥´óÐã World TV informed Americans tonight the perpetrators are terrorists and they are part of a terrorist cell. Ö÷²¥´óÐã spent considerable time not so long ago explaining why suicide bombers in places like Israel are referred to as militants in Ö÷²¥´óÐã reports, but as I predicted, when the victims or would be victims got much closer to home, Ö÷²¥´óÐã changed its tune. It's the utter hypocricy of anti Israeli anti American propaganda masquerading as journalism and in Ö÷²¥´óÐã's case it wears a very thin mask. Ö÷²¥´óÐã asks why there is so much anti Americanism in the world. In part it's because Ö÷²¥´óÐã incites it.

Recriminations, Accusations, Praise. We still require an independent Inquiry... this can be held in camera ..but must be non political... & report to the House when concluded. The past inquiry was set -up by the PM & reported to the PM... hardly unbiased! & the present Ö÷²¥´óÐã Secretary & the likes of Paul Murphy hardly inspires confidence.

Lets not forget in all this furore.. it was reported that 100,000 Muslims ( a sizeable minority)did not condemn 7/7...until we sort out this problem we are effectively at War within the UK.
Also let us not forget that IF !the Lady at the Storage depot had not reported her suspicions about the Men & Package to the Police this latest Plot may have by-passed the Intelligence radar.. doesn't bear contemplating!!

Someone needs to take the piranha out of the fish tank, the guppies are getting a bit concerned with its presence.

the theory behind the first surprise strike [impossible for a democracy to defend against] such as pearl harbour is that you do enough damage to knock the enemy out. 7/7 didn't do that. so its not who strikes first but who strikes last that is important in victory.

I would like to know why the Ö÷²¥´óÐã feels the neccesity to attack the 'Secret Service'?, the reporting yesterday was mind boggling in it's attempts to deflect the attention from Muslim 'Terrorists' onto the so called failures of our 'Secret Services'.

Does the Ö÷²¥´óÐã not understand that 5 'Terrorists' are no longer able to plot to blow up thier own country?.

Living in The Netherlands, I normally watch Ö÷²¥´óÐã World, yesterday, whilst CNN, SKY, Ned1 (Dutch TV), Bel1 (Belgian TV) and WDR (German TV) all went live to the Old Bailey to report on the Judges verdict, the Ö÷²¥´óÐã World gave ZERO coverage to the verdicts, and it was only 3 hours later that it bothered to spend 4 mins discussing it!.

Yet at the same time, it gave 30 mins to the Israeli investigation into the handling of the Lebanon crisis, this proves to me how biased and out of touch with the general public your broadcasting units are.

The only word I can find that best sums up the Ö÷²¥´óÐã is Hypocrites.

JOSEPH - this will give you a Clue as to where we are all going if we stay in Europe and the current group of Politicians are allowed to get way with it.

Sadly, the media would appear to be joining in with the process.
By either ignoring such things, or deciding oops it's not nice so we will ignore it, or it won't effect us, we will have passed on before it kicks in. In other words 'Pull the ladder up' let the future generations suffer our failures.

This is blatantly untrue:
as soon as the news broke, Ö÷²¥´óÐã World opted into our domestic N24 channel which had comprehensive coverage both from the court and also experts in the studio. The channels stayed together for the next forty five minutes until World News Today at 1200. Crevice then dominated that programme for the first 15 minutes and returned to the verdicts on two more occasions until 1300 local.
I can't believe Joseph was tuned into Ö÷²¥´óÐã World at the time.....

over the past few months i have seen one muslim after the other being accused, yes i say accused, as this is exactly what they are accusations. Birmingham is a fine example, businesses and homes raided over a suspected terrorist be-heading threat. How many of the men were charged? The media spin-doctors need to stop and think....these men you accuse of being terrorists have families too. if this 'q' sent these terrorists for training why is he still walking the streets? i'll tell you why cos hes innocent. What did your presenters expect bombarding the cafe? a cup of tea? the images truly were appauling.

the media needs tgo stop and think before they name and shame men who often turn out to be innocent. THEY HAVE FAMILIES WHO WILL BE AFFECTED BY THEIR ACTIONS.what happened innocent until provem guilty?? or does that not apply to muslims?

Why have we we been seeing such an increase in violent crime and 'terrorism in recent times? Is how we're analysing and responding to this just going to exacerbate what's already a rather disturbing trend?

I fear the answer may be 'yes'.
