Thing is debtjuggler what is the debate?

If there was supposedly evidence that there was no Holocaust then as I have said many, many times why would far right people not take their evidence to court or to a reputable academy?

There are those like the old jaded_jean login who would try to protest that the Holocaust was "made up" but then on other occaisions we got the Jews as the "internal political and economic threat" and "Hitler had to do what he did" type of argument.

But those that complain that I obsess about the far right only really have to pay attention to the posts on here and the sub text to see why I am happy to point out where some people are going.

If you think there was no Holocaust you will have to do better than "it was made up to put people off statism" as previous regulars on here did.

On the coalition I have wearied on the Labour line that vast numbers of Lib Dem supporters have left the coalition for Labour as it was clearly propaganda from day one.

There will be a dip in the polls as most people are anxious, Tories as well, over the inevitable compromises that don't sit well with their individual positions. I didn't want the VAT hike (nor Labours 10p attempt that negates their criticism) and I don't want to see massive cuts in higher education. I worry that they are cutting the police budget too hard.

But for the Lib Dems that was always a fact of life about grown up politics that attempt to serve the nation as opposed to the scorched earth Labour attitude.

For the Tories this is a must win and must be seen to perform well and fairly period.

If it goes well I think in fact the Labour Party is the one in big trouble as their wilderness years may become perpetual - especially as memoirs come out and the conflict of their identity and direction grows.

On the other hand whilst I doubt there will be a double dip if the sovereign debt crisis gets out of control and there is financial chaos then the public won't be sympathetic.

But then would they be sympathetic to a Labour Party whose actual record of delivering economic benefit and social justice is poor and who are currently trying to use class war arguments that are redundant.

Of course I wonder why Sheffield was chosen so I suppose the Forgemasters funding row is the backdrop?

I gather there was some Tory who wanted to fund the project - so long as it was not government money used to facilitate a trend towards the nuclear energy Labour wanted us to have - whilst the public did not.

I assume no rules were broken and appropriate action will betaken if there was wrong doing but having heard nothing I assume the suspicions are no more valid than concerns over Gordon Browns brother having a role in the nuclear industry.

I doubt the coalition will last the five years but if it doesgthen Labour are going to be very worried.

I offer some thoughts for the day for those who worry about immigration on the basis that it threatens our culture but usually end up referring to race.

In science we know that genetic variation is greater within a race than between races and there are no links in race and IQ that cannot be explained by environmental factors such as education. The races are the same and as The Incredible Human Journey we all have very common genetic patterns and mots of the differences are simply cosmetic.

Culture has no relationship to genetics as it can clearly be possessed by anybody.

The far right having lost the argument that there are differences between the races tries to use sleight of hand to pass off the latter notion of culture when they are referring to racial issues.

Groups such as Migration Watch are not racists and do not endorse the racial view of some smaller "radical" parties.

Of the smaller parties UKIP and the English Democrats, do not, to the best of my knowledge, endorse any racial principles.

I didn't see any comment from you regarding the recent (and oft-raised) issues of FGM that is now being practiced IN UK. That and other horrific practices (eg stoning, honour killing)are barbaric cultural practices and need no sleight of hand to be condemned as horrific and alien to our English culture.

Perhaps one of the biggest corporate rip-off's in the UK today is BT answer 1571, which it would appear that almost every landline in the country now has to ensure that you get charged 10p when the line is engaged. Similarly most phone lines have BT answer after a very short number of rings, also costing you 10p to find out that the person you called was not in.

I just wonder how much false revenue this costs the public in a year, most people are to ignorant to have it set back to standard, you can have it removed but its loads of hassle on the phone to BT. We had ours put back to default some time ago, my dad is half deaf due to being a gunner in the Royal Artillery during WW2 and its was impossible to hear it soon enough to get back from the Kitchen. I had enquired about a low user tariff, but my dad had to do that personally when he really struggles with strange people.

here's the problem with such a Mailista analysis. We insult other cultures every day - the abuse that UK Muslims went through at the beginning and during American's 'War on Islam' was incredible, and indeed still are, although it is slightly lessening now. There are no problems it seems with our tabloid and Meeja Journals heaping as much abuse as they can onto other cultures - and sometimes like in FGM, or this "witch-children" stupidity, or "honour killings", these abuses are valid, and indicate the clash between our own values, and different value systems. It is through such clashes we can examine our own culture, as well.
