A friend of mine's Mother had a knee joint replaced and it snapped. At first the surgeons could not believe there was a problem so soon after the joint was fitted - but because it caused an infection they could not operate again for several months until the infection had healed - so my friend's Mother was left with a great deal of pain and discomfort for many months.

When the broken joint was removed the surgeon apparently stated that he had never seen anything like it before.

So it could well not be hip joints but also knee joints as well.

Doctors and surgeons have know about the problems of metal on metal implant and resurfacing and have been paid to use products from company's like Du Pay and Zimmer. The use of IR35 is nothing short of serious fraud & corruption.
UK based employers are using to employ foreign workers to get staff of the payroll account & as everyone's tax affiars are private and data protected - most employers know that very little tax is paid by those self employed on this basis either in the UK or in country of origin.

It is a national disgrace - supported by UK companies, CBI, political class, banks, main professions etc.

The losers are:

1) the low & average paid PAYE tax payer as getting whipped by the tax man as picking up the tab

2) British workers as jobs being sold overseas, undercut by wages & tax avoidance/evasion & having less & less job opportunity.

This needs urgent address in March 2012 national budgetary amendments as is a total scandal.

Don't get old. I don't feel it.. yet. So I am not patronised by a public 'service' sector that has lost all plots. But I am something a lot worse. The trick will be to direct it properly, and will do the most good.

It is ciminal that these hip joints have been launched onto the market without any robust clinical trials. In efect these poor people that have been affected with these hip joints have been used as guinea pigs.

I too have a medical device called a transvaginal tape to cure stress urinary incontinence implanted in me. This too has gone distaterously wrong and has eroded my pelvic organs. This too was launched onto the market without any clinical trials. Hundreds if not thousands of ladies have been affected and the MHRA are choosing to ignore our plight

There are vey few surgeons willing to treat us as this is a permanent implant and removing it is like extracting chewing gum from hair.

This implant has ruined my quality of life. I am in constant pain and have lost my job. I face a life of further surgeries to remove this tape bit by bit as it erodes Please someone help us

Hi Ann. I am currently trying to beat the system for a friend (77) who has years of post hip-replacement swelling and pain (she also has the tape you refer to). As I never cease to point up, on this blog, COVERT TYRANNY rules over a matrix of corruption, but our politicians trumpet it as: "democracy under the rule of law".

One of the most devious tricks ever pulled here, was to spread the myth that we Britons complain about everything. The TRUTH is that every aspect of life under the Westminster Tyranny IS RIPE FOR JUSTIFIABLE COMPLAINT.

Might the worm be turning? (see Junkk above) I shall continue my actions until mental failure (or a freak accident) claims me.

Who believes the patient . April 2006 - Birmingham Hip replacement - Ten months of repeatedly saying the new - hip joint was more painful than my damaged hip -- eventually one person believed me and it was realised the new - joint could never have worked -- cup size etc., Told at the time l was only the second person that this had been noted and before my new joint was a year old had an Exeter replacement . My left foot is still numb from the original operation (never believed by consultant) and the leg has very restricted movement.

Further to my earlier comments ; I still feel anger by medical responses and feel humiliated in the fact that after, daring , to legally take on the medical profession the fact that Birmingham hip replacements are no longer used on females was not taken into account when my case was vaguely considered . I was told that my long standing back problem was probably the cause of extended pain and numbness after operations for my hip. Made to feel very guilty for daring to cross the medical profession l felt hounded into a very low out of court settlement and in one letter from the consultant words to the effect ----- " I an sorry" My main question has always been --- HOW COULD THE SURGEON PERFORM A SUCCESSFUL OPERATION IF THE IMPLANT WAS NOT CORRECT ? No answer given to me only evidence that women are no longer given this particular implant.

These NHS doctors - some of them are so arrogant also - no matter what they do to you or whatever goes wrong they can be so arrogant.

Speaking of someone who has accompanied those having problems at e.g hospital - they're so much hidden behind NHS shield that they're unnaccountable and untouchable.

A much better patients response system is needed - preferably a fast track Tribunal system is needed to deal with those having problems & concerns - as applying to GP services also.

Raising issues through the same NHS staff that have caused the problems for some - is completely unacceptable. Should apply to care homes also?
