I have a piece of software that pretty much does what they say there's does - shows where stars, planets etc. were/are from anywhere on earth at any time. According to my software, Jupiter and Venus combined in the year 1BC June 17 in Leo, but it was below the Horizon in Bethlehem! I really hope this is my software making this error and not them being really stupid - for no other reason that I would feel greatly sorry for them!
But I guess when you can make the simple mistake of "*Three* wise men" you capable of anything!
