Is Noel Edmonds disabled?

Yes, it's true. Could the beardie bloke with the dubious taste in shirts, who presents Channel 4's Deal or No Deal?, be one of us? That's what concerned disabled people up and down the land are asking after the shock news broke that ! "Stunned onlookers" were apparently aghast and appalled as Mr Edmonds sped his 脗艁110,000 Aston Martin DB9 into a blue badge bay outside a fitness centre in Bristol, where the great man was due to speak at a charity fundraising event.

Sadly, as I was busy getting all hot under my monkey collar about this, ready to boycott any future afternoons watching Noel talking to the banker and opening 22 red boxes on the telly, I read on and discovered that apparently he had been given permission to park there by the centre's owners, so that he could get in and out of the building quickly without having to mix with members of the general riff-raff - er, I mean, public.

Crippled Monkey says: Boo and hiss to Noel! You would never have dared behave in such a flagrantly disrespectful and disablist manner in your Multi-Coloured Swap Shop days. Sniff. My childhood dreams have been shattered, innit?

Good lord. Just as ministers are allowed to abuse the environment by travelling in big cars ... I too should be allowed to remain distinctly separate by parking in a cripple spot.

As I was saying to Blobby the other day, blo-bl-blobb-blobby-blbobalob ... and that goes for disableds too. You hear me. I used to do the radio One Breakfast show, you know.

well said - and lets hope that the 主播大秀 have or can "access"!, the contact details and will make sure that this blog is sent to Noel. I'm another disillusioned ex Noel fan from my childhood days, really liked his radio shows way back.

What!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Its not a question of being given permission by the owners, if its a disabled parking bay then its a disabled parking bay and if you don't have a blue badge then you should park there whther you have a famous beard or not!
From the directgov site:
"It is an offence to park a vehicle which is not displaying a badge in a Blue Badge parking bay. If you see this, you should report it to a traffic warden (or parking enforcement officer), the local police or the local council (who are responsible for issuing badges).

Police officers, traffic wardens, local authority parking attendants and civil enforcement officers have the right to inspect Blue Badges. It is an offence to refuse or fail to produce a badge for inspection, without reasonable excuse. This offence carries a maximum fine of 艁1,000."

Who's going to be the first to report him?

Maybe one of the last acts of the DRC could be a mailshot to business organisations reminding them that "their" disabled bays are not theirs to otherwise allocate. They have legal responsibilities to provide them these days, through planning permissions etc.
This is just the latest example of self-important people and bodies deciding that the disabled bay is just the place to park the Police car, the council display stand, this weeks special promotion vehicle etc. After all, disabled people aren't real customers are they, and more important people take priority.!!
