iPlayer: what about the subtitles?
With all the publicity surrounding the Ö÷²¥´óÐã's iPlayer service - the new way to catch up with Ö÷²¥´óÐã programmes from the last seven days that you've missed or want to watch again - if you're deaf or hard of hearing (and even if you're not), you might reasonably have been wondering "What about subtitles?"
When the iPlayer launched at Christmas, there were a number of criticisms levelled at the Ö÷²¥´óÐã concerning the fact that subtitles weren't being made available on the service at the same time. It seemed that technology problems were to blame, and now testing of a new system for providing subtitles is under way, with the hope that they will be launched for downloads by the end of March. Subtitles for streams are then planned for the end of May.

Im a British citizen but I live on the continent. I was home at christmas and saw the new player and thought it was a great idea and worked well. I was wondering if there would be plans to allow me to pick up some programmes up internationally or is this problematic due to licensing restrictions?
