Aung San Suu Kyi

This morning we held a live chat during Aung San Suu Kyi's second Reith Lecture, Dissent. Lots of people joined in, by typing comments directly into the live chat, by emailing the programme via the Reith pages on the Radio 4 website and by tweeting using the hashtag .

You can replay the resulting conversation below (it might make sense to listen to the lecture while you're doing so) and subscribe to the Reith 2011 podcast.

Listen to or download the podcasts of the first two 2011 Reith lectures from the Reith podcast page.

You can also watch a video of Aung San Suu Kyi's second 2011 Reith lecture. is available as a PDF.

There are many brave people in the world but I know that I would not be that brave in the face of such threats.

Listening to that doctor from Bahrain, my first thought was why there was no law to restrict such action or at least control the interrogators. My second thought with all the anti terror laws introduced into this country, have we lost our democratic rights and don't yet know?

It is strange and funny that many interrogators take up religion and seek redemption when they give up interrogating.
