Peter Hook and John Cooper Clark

Following on from Simon Day's interview of Peter Hook in last week's episode where they chatted about (amongst other things) the rise of punk, Joy Division and bass playing, tonight's Chain Reaction sees Peter Hook talking to John Cooper Clarke about Salford, doing adverts in the 1980s and John Cooper Clarke's appearance on the GCSE syllabus.

This isn't exactly the place to say this, but I can't find any forum that's more appropriate. Interesting though this programme is, I don't expect to find it repeated on Radio 4 Extra a few days later than it appears on Radio 4. Can we please have the comedy hour, with vintage programmes, back at 12 noon on Radio 4 Extra, instead of recycling stuff that I could have heard on Radio 4 the week before and on Listen Again if I'd wanted to?

My wife didn't think much of the conversation. I blame Simon Day. She'd never heard of Peter Hook or John Cooper Clarke and doesn't trust anyone with three names anyway. Mrs Odicean claims to have been a punk and a Goth once upon a time - but actually she's just rather ugly.
