Today was another fantastically energetic show from The Festival Café at . Perhaps those best placed to give you a glimpse of the glitz and glamour are two of our Festival Runners, Fiona and Emma...

Fiona Carlyle:

We've just finished our third live festival show so everything is beginning to fall into place now, although we are still on our feet, running about like mad most of the day! I spent today handing out flyers, helping usher guests on and off stage and looking after the gorgeous from South Africa (which mostly consisted of getting them lots of the EICC's fabulous banoffee muffins!). It's been great to get a chance to see a taster of so many different shows - the only problem being I just won't have the time to go and watch them all! Today was amazing, with singer and storyteller having us in stitches, dragging a poor audience member up on stage with them and the Bala Brothers wowing us with their incredibly rich voices. There's a real adrenaline rush working on the live shows, so I'm still very excited about the rest of the fortnight!

Emma Langman:

Another busy day at the Festival Café with more fabulous guests. The unique Lynn Ruth Miller wowed us with her energy and humour - I hope I'm as vibrant as her at 77 years old! Peter Straker showcased his great singing voice and shared some interesting stories, while Dominic J Allen and Alexander Wright from Belt Up Theatre introduced their style of theatre to our show with some audience participation - thanks to audience member David who did a great job! The show ended with the Bala Brothers from South Africa, whose singing inspired tears amongst many members of the audience, but whose chat had us all laughing, especially Zwai's Glaswegian accent. With , Andrew Hawkins, , and cast members from Could It Be Forever all appearing on stage tomorrow, we're set for another great show. Don't forget - Venue150@EICC, 1.15-2pm and tickets are free.
